We’re mere days from the final of the third phase in the Avengers MCU as Endgame approaches release next week.
But before we see exactly how things finish up for Mad Titan Thanos, we’re all about those fan theories that are filling us with a whole bunch of positive vibes.
Last time we saw the villain Thanos he had snapped away half the universe – including half our beloved avengers – and the rest of the crew is now back for revenge.
They want their people back and their world restored to how it was pre-Snap. And you’re darn right we want the same.
One smart punter has stitched a few clues together from those monumental moments in Infinity War to prophesise the idea that Captain America will be the one to take down the Josh Brolin-helmed Thanos.
Could it happen? Look, we’re after any sign that things will return to normal.
It all came about when we saw Cap’s brilliant ability to momentarily hold Thanos back in that monumental scene in the Wakandan jungle, right as the avengers failed in taking down the guy at the final hurdle.
‘I don’t believe it’s physically blocking Thanos’ hand. Thanos beat up Hulk, and Rogers is definitely not stronger than Hulk, not to mention Thanos knocks out Rogers seconds later, while Rogers’ uppercut punch at 0:30 did nothing to Thanos.’
The big hit comes when the Reddit user added: ‘The glove works by responding to the will of the user, and in that moment, both of them were in physical contact with the glove. So Rogers was kind of “out-willing” Thanos, and while none of the infinity stones were actively being used, they were implicitly responding to both Thanos’ and Rogers’ wills respectively, with Rogers’ influence being greater. And that’s how he was able to resist Thanos [sic].’
Well butter us up and call us shooketh.
Is Cap ‘worthy’ enough to be able to wield the gauntlet? And what does it mean when he inevitably meets Thanos on Titan in Endgame?
Fans were picking up what the theory was putting down, as they regained a little more hope the end battle would be glorious.
We’ve got the popcorn already poppin’ because this showdown is shaping up to be even more epic.
Avengers: Endgame is in cinemas 25 April.
