Adele Goes Total Fangirl Over the Spice Girls

Grammy-award winning singer Adele knows how to spice things up. A longtime proud Spice Girls fan, she recently attended the group’s final show of their “Spice World – 2019 Tour” last Saturday at Wembley Stadium in London, according to People. She also got to hang out with her childhood idols post-concert, and took to social media to prove it.

Adele posted an entire slideshow of her night at the concert, including her dancing with friends and pics with the gal group. In her Instagram post, she wrote, “Oiii last time I saw the Spice Girls at Wembley was 21 years ago! Tonight with my nearest and dearest I cried, laughed, screamed, danced, reminisced and fell back in love with my 10 year old self… It’s no secret how much I love them, how much they inspired me to run for my life and never look back. I finally got to meet Ginger, I got drunk with the girls and quite frankly I can’t believe how far I’ve come 😂 thank you for the madness I get to live, I couldn’t have got here without you 5 BRITISH legends! I love you! ❤️.”

Adele captured a very touching moment of the Spice Girls calling their mothers and children up to the stage. Adele, who has a 6-year-old son Angelo, called from the audience, “We’re all mums now! We’re all mums!”

Post-concert hangout

The Spice Girls are obviously admirers of Adele as well. Their official Instagram account shared a photo of Adele with the group backstage: Gerri Halliwell (Ginger Spice), Melanie “Mel B” Brown (Scary Spice), Melanie “Mel C” Chisholm (Sporty Spice), and Emma Bunton (Baby Spice). They captioned the post, “Thank you for coming to celebrate with us last night @adele we love you!!!”

Missing from the group was Victoria Beckham, aka Posh Spice, who was unable to make the tour due to business commitments (including her top fashion label) but sent her well wishes as they kicked off their tour, according to People. “Good luck to the girls today as they start their tour!” Beckham posted on Instagram along with a throwback photo and the hashtag #FriendshipNeverEnds.

Spicy since childhood

Adele has always been vocal of her love for the infamous 90s girl group, often saying how they were an influence on her career, as noted by People. And I was like, I want to get out.”

Adele has even performed some of the Spice Girls’ musicduring her own shows, such as the 1997 hit “Spice Up Your Life” during her tourin Amsterdam, according to People.

Back in November when the group announced their reunion tour, Adele posted a picture of herself as a child, her bedroom walls adorned with Spice Girl posters in the background, with a huge look of excitement on her face. “HA! This is how I feel right now!” Adele captioned the post. “I AM READY.”

Looks like even superstars like Adele have their moments offandom.
