The Black Mirror series 5 trailer just dropped – here's when the new season starts and who's in the cast with Miley Cyrus

BLACK Mirror's fifth series is making its anticipated arrival this summer, as revealed in a newly-released Netflix trailer.

The teaser gives a hint of all the action fans should prepare for before the show's return while simultaneously confirming Miley Cyrus' involvement in the Netflix sci-fi. Here's what you need to know…

When is the new season starting?

The fifth series will kick off on Wednesday, June 5, 2019.

The revelation came with the release of its first trailer on May 15, 2019.

And it goes without saying that the series will be much shorter than it has been in the past, which is supposedly due to the release of Bandersnatch.

Only three episodes make up the fifth series.

Who’s in the cast with Miley Cyrus?

For the most part, finding out who has been cast for the upcoming series had remained quite the mystery.

Thanks to the trailer, we now know that Miley Cyrus is one of the famous faces playing a role in the show when it returns in June.

It had initially been rumored that Cyrus was going to be featured in the show, but it wasn’t confirmed until the teaser dropped on May 15.

Andrew Scott joins the line-up of stars joining the fifth series.

The Irish award-winning actor is also known for having played roles in movies such as Spectre, Victor Frankenstein, Pride and The Stag.

Anthony Mackie is certainly keeping himself busy after having recently starred in Avengers: Endgame as Sam Wilson / Falcon.

He has also made appearances in blockbuster hits such as Ant-Man and Captain America.

Yahya Abdul-Mateen has also been cast for the new season.

He famously played the villain Manta in 2018’s superhero film Aquaman and can also be seen in HBO’s Watchmen.

Other stars that have been confirmed by Netflix include Damson Idris, Topher Grace, Pom Klementieff, Nicole Beharie, Angourie Rice, Madison Davenport, and Ludi Lin.

Black Mirror officially returns June 5th, so mark your calendars now!
