Chow Yun-fat is super rich, yet, he goes around his hometown of Hong Kong like some sort of poor person. According to Indiewire, Chow Yun-fat lives off of a meager $100 per month despite being worth a smooth $714 million. And in an even worse insult to obscene wealth, he wants to give “his entire net worth” to charity because all he wants in life, is to be “a happy and normal person”. To that end, Yun-fat will take a picture with just about any person he runs into on the street, which is a lot of people, because he takes the subway like a commoner.
Indiewire also says he’s challenged Daniel Day Lewis to an old-timey affectation duel by carrying around a Nokia flip phone for a couple of decades. He only recently upgraded to a smartphone because the Nokia stopped working after 17 years. Now get this, he shops for all his clothes at *shudder* “discount clothing stores”. Give me a minute to collect myself, please!
Ok, that was rough guys. Yun-fat said some real repugnant shit about clothes. He said:
“I don’t wear clothes for other people. As long as I think it’s comfortable, then it’s good enough for me.”
He followed up those absurd comments with this doozy about inner peace or some shit.
“The hardest thing in life is not about how much money you earn, but how to keep a peaceful mindset and live the rest of your life in a simple and carefree manner.”
Nope, sorry Yun-fat. The hardest thing in life is watching someone squander their personal fortune on charity and discount tracksuits. Fuck me, what a waste of “fuck you” money.
I was recently in Hong Kong and got an egg tart at a bakery near the popular flower market and there was a picture of Chow Yun-fat on the wall, because apparently that’s his spot for egg tarts. Yun-fat walks his ass to the corner to get himself an egg tart instead of having a manservant fetch one and serve it to him on a silver plate like any self-respecting mega millionaire would. It’s a crying shame. What’s worse, if you see him out and about, he’ll take a real nice picture with you, and SMILE LIKE HE MEANS IT!
It looks like dude will even hold the camera for you with his long, capable arms. This guy has got a lot of damn nerve. Time for me to get my IRS 990 forms in order. What should I call my charity?
