Nowadays, celebrities don’t hesitate to hire social media managers to maintain their online presence and post quality content to their online accounts.
With some of the most famous A-listers have people running their social media accounts, we wonder: Do the Kardashian-Jenners hire social managers to post content to their respective feeds?
While we assumed the famous bunch posted their own photos and videos online, we’re now starting to think again after a “private” photo of Khloé Kardashian in a bathing suit — which someone on her team posted without authorization — went viral on social media.
An unedited photo of Khloé Kardashian in a bikini was accidentally posted online by an assistant
The Kardashian-Jenners are constantly posting bikini-clad photos of themselves online. However, a recent snapshot of Khloé Kardashian rocking a skimpy swimsuit was never meant to go public.
The photo in question shows the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star posing in a leopard bikini while standing in front of a swimming pool. Though Kardashian looks happy and carefree as she smiles for the camera, the photo is without heavy editing and airbrushing, which isn’t what we’re used to seeing from the Kardashian crew.
Not long after the image was posted online, it quickly spread around the internet.
While the photo gave fans somewhat of a more “candid” shot of Kardashian than the usual glammed-up bikini photos she posts, it turns out that the image wasn’t supposed to see the light of day.
According to Tracy Romulus, the chief marketing officer of Kim Kardashian West’s KKW Brands, the image was posted by mistake by someone on the Good American founder’s team.
“The color edited photo was taken of Khloé during a private family gathering and posted to social media without permission by mistake by an assistant,” Romulus said in a statement to Page Six on Apr. 5.
Though Kardashian prides herself and her brand on body acceptance, Romulus says the photo was not authorized by the reality star and is currently being removed from social media, even though it’s been shared and reposted multiple times.
“Khloé looks beautiful,” Romulus continued, “but it is within the right of the copyright owner to not want an image not intended to be published taken down.”
Do the Kardashians post their own content to social media?
Seeing as this unwanted photo of Kardashian was published online by an assistant, we can’t help wonder if the famous family manages their own Instagram and Twitter accounts or if they have people post content for them?
While it’s unclear if members of the Kar-Jenner clan have social media managers to post approved content to their respective accounts, Kim Kardashian West previously revealed that she handles all of her social media posts on her own.
“I could never see me hiring someone,” she told Vanity Fair in 2016. “For me, it wouldn’t seem authentic. Because it’s all about me, I couldn’t imagine trying to find someone to do that for me.”
Though Kardashian West manages her social media accounts herself, that does not mean she doesn’t consult others on what she should and should not post.
“I will ask friends what they think of a certain picture, but I am so picky when it comes to my image. I want to be in full control,” the Skims founder said. “I will send two pictures to my friends or assistant and ask which they like better. Just tonight, I posted a pic of my [ex-BFF friend Larsa Pippen] for her birthday and sent three pictures to my assistant and asked which she liked best because I couldn’t decide. I love asking caption advice too—sometimes I draw a blank.”
