Eamonn Holmes cancels work after testing positive for Covid-19

Eamonn Holmes has contracted Covid-19, with the presenter saying he’s ‘coping well’.

The This Morning star, who has been double vaccinated, shared the news on social media.

He wrote: ‘Covid finally caught me.

‘Thankfully I’m Double jabbed. More than Half way through my isolation and coping with the symptoms and effects well.

‘Unfortunately I’m going to be a No Show for some Professional & Personal events. Just want to let everyone know why & offer my apologies.’

Fans have been quick to send the star well-wishes.

Eamonn and his wife and co-presenter Ruth Langsford, have often spoken out about Covid.

People who have had both Covid-19 vaccinations can still catch the virus. However, it lowers the risks of dying of the virus, being hospitalised, and being seriously ill with it.

Eamonn said in July: ‘I know people who have been double jabbed and they have Covid and they were saying to me, “You would not want to get this” so double jab is not going to prevent this happening.’

‘Not 100%,’ Ruth pointed out, ‘but it provides protection and it hopefully stops you getting very ill with it or dying, but it doesn’t stop you getting it or spreading it actually.’

Meanwhile, Ruth also shared her experience of getting her vaccines on social media, saying she’s ‘so grateful’.

Sharing a picture of herself at the vaccination centre on Instagram, she wrote: ‘2nd Vaccine done!! ✅🎉🎉🎉 SO grateful.

‘Thank you to all the wonderful doctors, nurses and volunteers at the Walton on Thames vaccination centre for such a good experience…well organised, friendly and reassuring…and it was BUSY! Missed you @stephanieshervington but Sally did a great job! @nhsengland #covidvacccine’.
