Garth Brooks performed for the first time at Notre Dame Stadium for over 84,000 fans over the weekend despite bad weather.
“You ALL made history tonight @NotreDame! Thank YOU for letting me be part of it!! I am on top of the world knowing that we made a date to do it again! love, g,” Brooks wrote on an Instagram post with a picture of his performance during the weekend.
It was the first-ever music concert at the Notre Dame Stadium in its 88-year history.
The two-hour concert, which started about an hour late due to heavy winds and rain, was thoroughly enjoyed by both Brooks and the audience. Brooks also brought the University of Notre Dame’s cheerleading squad and its leprechaun mascot onstage.
The show was filmed for a television special–“Garth: Live at Notre Dame!”, which will air locally at 8 p.m. December 2 on WSBT-TV.
