Katie Waissel says she ‘must listen to her body’ after suspected heart attack

Katie Waissel has shared a heartfelt statement following her trip to the hospital earlier this week, stating that she "must listen to her body".

The 35 year old shared the shocking news of her suspected heart attack on Thursday, November 11, taking to her Instagram account to update fans and those closest to her.

Former X Factor star Katie posted a snap of herself in hospital to her account, telling her 26.6K followers that she'd been rushed by an ambulance to her local A&E, praising the "amazing" NHS staff.

Now, only days later, the mum of one has updated her fans with a long statement which states she feels "truly overwhelmed" by the love and support she has received over the tough past few days.

Katie hasn't detailed exactly what the result of her hospitalisation was, but has stated that she tries "not to speculate or be afraid", adding that she would be sharing more details on exactly what happened to her later on.

Posting on her Instagram grid on Saturday, November 13, Katie wrote a statement which was accompanied by a silhouette of a superhero and a daughter.

The star wrote: "I am truly overwhelmed by the outpour of love, well wishes and support from you all and can’t thank you enough.

"Wednesday was indeed a scary day."

Katie continued: "I’m pleased to let you know that I am home and taking it easy.

"It’s important to ask that as we investigate what happened and why medically, kindly try not to speculate or be afraid.

"I will provide more information later."

She concluded: "But for now, I must listen to my body and take care of it. I’ve still got plenty of the good fights to fight! All my love, Katie".

The star ended the post with some hashtags: "#thankyou #thegoodfight #anotefrommetoyou #keeponkeepinon #grateful".

The post attracted hundreds of comments from concerned fans and friends, who rushed to write messages of support.

"Glad to hear you're home and hope you don't have to wait too long for a resolution. So important we listen to our body, be gentle with yourself" wrote one account.

Another comment read: "Sending so much love to you, Katie and wishing you a speedy recovery xx", and another added: "Sending ❤ and light hun. Rest up, recover and take care of you both x"
