Lorraine Kelly, 61, felt compelled to clarify why she’d used the name Smith on her vaccine form, after one fan pointed this out. Posting on Twitter, the television presenter addressed the reasoning behind this to her 632,000 followers.

Yesterday, Lorraine shared a picture after her vaccination on social media.

She was seen posing outside the hospital and holding up her card proudly in the candid snap.

Alongside the picture, she wrote: “Vaccinated! So relieved!

“Easy peasy – didn’t feel a thing – thanks so much to all the cheery volunteers and NHS staff who made it SO simple!!

“Please please get vaccinated!! We are so lucky to have the opportunity Xxx.”

However, one fan felt compelled to comment on the name on her vaccination card, which read: Lorraine Smith.

Posting in response to this, they tweeted: “Lorraine Smith lol how original.”(sic)

Lorraine replied to the viewer, clarifying things this morning, writing: “Smith is my married name.”

Other fans were also quick to come to Lorraine’s support over the tweet.

One wrote: “And anyone who is a fan would know that right? Or you would hope!”

Another added: “If you marry someone called Steve Smith it is!!”

While a third simply weighed in and wrote: “Oh dear.”
