Missy Elliott‘s name also finds a place on the list of nominees. She becomes the first-ever female rapper to be nominated to the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
Ten more artists have been nominated to the performing nominee’s category.
Songwriters who wrote hit songs for at least 20 years are eligible for induction to the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
The Hall’s 50th annual Induction & Awards ceremony will be held in New York on June 13 next year.
Only six songwriters, or songwriting groups, will be officially inducted into the elite group.
