Meghan and Harry may not be working members of the royal family anymore, but it would be a mistake to think that they’re looking for something to do. Amidst announcements that the two are expecting their second child, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have set to work redefining what “service means to them.” On February 21st, they took one step forward by using their nonprofit, Archewell Foundation, to donate to a women’s shelter in Dallas, Texas affected by Winter Storm Uri. The funds, according to Genesis Shelter, will go towards “replacing the roof at our transitional housing facility & helping us meet our immediate needs.”
And, while we’re all waiting for Meghan and Harry’s upcoming tell-all with Oprah to shed light on the couple’s past decisions, on February 22, 2021, Spotify gave us all a taste of what the couple’s future might look like. In a Spotify Stream On video, from the comfort of their Santa Barbara, California home, Meghan and Harry teased a series of upcoming podcasts.
What's in the future for Meghan and Harry's Archewell Audio?
When The Duke and Duchess of Sussex released their first Archewell Audio podcast in December 2020, it climbed to number two on Spotify’s chart, leaving us thirsting after more (via Woman and Home). We may soon get it. In the February 22 Spotify Stream On video, Meghan explains that she and Harry created Archewell audio to “elevate voices that maybe aren’t being heard and hear people’s stories.” As per what Harry explains, “the biggest part of this is to create this community of where you can share, that will encourage everybody else to then share their own vulnerabilities within that safe space.” The two hope that the podcasts that Archewell Audio will release, exclusively on Spotify, will “drive powerful conversations that inspire, challenge and educate.” Like the Duke and Duchess emphasized upon officially abandoning their royal roles, “We can all live a life of service. Service is universal.”
Oh, and because we know you’re wondering. That’s a drop-waist Oscar de la Renta dress that Meghan’s wearing in the Spotify streaming video (via Twitter). You can pick one up yourself for just under 3,500 dollars at Saks Fifth Avenue.
