Miley Cyrus has shared a touching new song on Instagram in tribute to her late pet dog Mary Jane.
The song, “Mary Jane 5EVR,” was produced by Mike Will Made-It, Andrew Wyatt, and Emile Haynie.
She posted a video consisting of clips and images of the rescued pit bill mix that she adopted eight years ago.
“I wrote this song in Malibu years ago on a piano in a house that no longer exists,” Cyrus said, referring to her home in the beach city in western Los Angeles that was ruined in a wildfire.
“A lot has changed over time. Mostly me. Music is my medicine. This song revolves around loss & heartache. Which I am currently experiencing after Mary Jane’s passing,” Cyrus wrote.
She called MJ “a true queen.” “She wore her grace, dignity & kindness like a crown. She will never be forgotten and will forever be missed. To know her is to love her. It has been my honor being her mom and best friend,” Cyrus added.
