Prince Charles ‘left hurt’ over reports Prince Harry ‘has a father-son relationship’ with music producer David Foster

Prince Charles has been left "hurt" by claims that Prince Harry is enjoying a "father and son" relationship with one of Meghan Markle's celebrity friends, according to a royal expert.

Broadway star Katharine McPhee recently revealed that Harry, 35, has grown close to her 70 year old husband David Foster, claiming their relationship is almost parental.

Katherine, 36, who acted alongside 38 year old Meghan as a teenager, opened up on how close their husbands have grown since their move to North America.

Millionaire record producer David, who has worked with the likes of Mariah Carey, Madonna and Michael Jackson, is said to have helped the couple move to Vancouver Island before they relocated to Los Angeles.

In an interview with Access Hollywood, Waitress actress Katharine said: "My husband has a really, really beautiful relationship with Harry. They're so cute, they're like father and son."

But it has now been claimed that Katharine's comments will have upset the future King.

Royal expert Brittani Barger told Daily Stat Online: "Charles loves his son very much.

"I think it would sting a little for any parent to hear someone say that their child has a parent/child relationship with someone other than their parents.

"I think it could sting a bit more because Harry and Meghan have stepped back from royal duties and moved to the States."

Brittani then went on to refer to reports from 2011 which claimed that Prince William called Kate Middleton's father "dad".

She continued: "If Charles was indeed hurt when he heard Prince William referred to Michael Middleton as 'dad', then I'd say if he heard this statement, it would sting a bit."
