The upcoming movie will be an R-rated comedy “about a group of four friends traveling through Asia in search of one of their birth mothers.”

According to Variety, “as the women at the center of the film travel through the region, their experience becomes one of bonding, friendship, belonging and no-holds-barred wild debauchery that reveals the universal truth of what it means to know and love who you are.”

The site reports that the movie has been fast-tracked and is set to film this fall. Lionsgate and Seth Rogen‘s Point Grey Pictures are producing.

Sherry shared the news on Instagram, celebrating that it’s the “first of it’s kind,” with it’s female Asian cast and crew – from lead actresses, to director, and writers Cherry Chevapravatdumrong and Teresa Hsiao.

Most notably, she wrote the screenplay for the Crazy Rich Asians movie and Disney’s Raya and the Last Dragon, alongside writing for shows like Dynasty, Lethal Weapon, Reign, Star-Crossed, Life Unexpected and One Tree Hill.

She’s also served as a co/executive producer on Lethal Weapon, Reign, Star-Crossed, Private Practice and Life Unexpected.
