Amy Dowden, 31, took to her official Instagram page to share the snaps with her 313,000 followers, as she mentioned how wearing the gown made her feel excited about her upcoming nuptials to fiancé Ben Jones. “With or without sleeves?” the Strictly Come Dancing dancing pro wrote.

Over on her Instagram Story, the 31-year-old continued posting videos of herself trying on different bridal gowns ahead of her photoshoot at Laura May Bridal in Cardiff.

Trying on different wedding dresses seemed to have raised Amy’s excitement for her upcoming big day, which was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

“I’ve arrived at the shoot,” she said.

“It’s a wedding dress shoot – how cool is that!”

“Especially as I’m still to get married.”

Amy got engaged to her longtime beau during a New Year’s Eve party in 2017.

And while Amy has been eager to walk down the aisle and say “I do”, the pandemic has halted those plans until further notice.

Her wedding with Ben was initially set to take place last summer, with the likes of Oti Mabuse and Dianne Buswell expected to act as her bridesmaids.

Had the couple moved ahead with plans to tie the knot in 2021, they would have had to settle for a much smaller ceremony.

Instead, the pair are said to be waiting until restrictions have been lifted so that both of their families and friends can attend – along with many of Amy’s Strictly co-stars.

In July 2020, the brunette addressed her decision to push back her wedding date in an emotional video posted to her Instagram.

“So today should have been my last day as a Miss,” she said.

“Obviously, it’s not, really few mixed emotions.

Amy went on to say: “I should be on my way now to the cottage with my bridesmaids and my family… spending the night together playing games and probably me being really nervous… my last night as a Miss!”

“Ben would have been on his way to the other cottage… obviously we would have stayed apart!

“But I guess we have all this to come. Really mixed emotions every hour… I’m thinking, ‘I would have been doing this or I wonder how I would have been feeling.'”

Amy concluded by mentioning that for any couple who’s in the same boat as her, they were ultimately doing the right thing by postponing their big day.

“Just remember safety is the most important thing, and we still have a big day ahead,” she said.
