BTS' Jimin Reveals Why It Was So Important for Suga To Get Shoulder Surgery

The BTS members are preparing for another album release, and that includes staying healthy and happy.

During his live stream on YouTube, Jimin shared his thoughts on the boys staying healthy during these uncertain times, including the importance of Suga doing his shoulder surgery.

BTS is preparing for the release of their upcoming album, ‘Be’

Hot off of the release of “Dynamite,” these performers have a new album set to premiere in November 2020. That’s their upcoming release, titled Be, written by and performed by BTS members RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook.

Although there are seven members in this K-pop group, one of them is currently recovering from shoulder surgery. That’s one of the K-pop group’s rappers, Min Yoongi, also known by his stage names, Suga and Agust D.

Suga underwent shoulder surgery during November 2020

BTS will release their new album BE on Nov. 20, along with the new single, “Life Goes On.” While the boys typically do promotional videos and interviews together, for this era, Suga will most likely be missing-in-action.

That’s due to a surgery that the rapper recently underwent, according to BTS’ management company. On Nov. 6, Big Hit Entertainment posted a message on Weverse regarding Suga’s condition and recovery process.

“Suga underwent surgery to repair his torn shoulder labrum on November 3,” the statement said. “The surgery, to address a problem that had constantly been a health and wellness issue for Suga, was completed successfully, and he is currently resting and recovering following his physician’s advice that SUGA must undergo a strict and unhindered period of recovery.”

Some fans recognize that this isn’t the first time Suga’s had problems with his shoulder. In 2012, he injured his shoulder, with it being diagnosed as dislocated the following year. In 2019, he was further diagnosed with “posterior labral tear of his left shoulder,” according to Big Hit Entertainment.

Jimin commented on Suga’s surgery during a live stream with BTS fans

Suga received various treatments to help with his shoulder and pain, but this surgery is one step toward a long term fix, according to Jimin. The singer for the group jumped on a live stream during November, commenting on the future projects of the group.

According to one translation, Jimin said that he and the other BTS members are looking after their health as much as possible. That’s why Suga went in to get the procedure — so that he can “be with us for the long run.”

The “Dynamite” music video is now available on YouTube. Music by BTS, including their recently released album, Map of the Soul: 7, is available for streaming on Spotify, Apple Music, and most major platforms.
