Claire Sweeney slices hand open live on stage causing play to be suspended

Claire Sweeney's latest theatre production has been suspended after the actress sliced her hand open live on stage in front of the audience.

During the opening night of the Shirley Valentine production, the show was stopped when the former Brookside actress cut her hand open on stage while peeling a potato.

Claire was forced to flee the stage and have her injury patched up as blood poured from the wound.

The publication claim that Claire was in the kitchen on set and peeling potatoes when she accidentally sliced her hand.
