Rebecca Humphries opens up about "shattered reality" after ex Seann Walsh was caught kissing Strictly partner

Although the drama surrounding Danny John-Jules has made headlines recently, it is the fallout from Seann Walsh and Katya Jones’ drunken kiss that has dominated this series of Strictly Come Dancing.

While Katya has said that her marriage to husband Neil Jones remains as strong as ever – and the two have been spotted sharing cute moments on-screen in the weeks since – actress Rebecca Humphries publicly dumped Seann (and said she was keeping the cat).

Now, in an open letter for World Kindness Day 2018 (November 13) on Vogue‘s website, Rebecca has spoken about living through the storm of a public controversy.

She wrote: “Perhaps the biggest shock (no mean feat), has been of the thousands of people who recognised the Wonder Woman behind that statement was at the same time standing in the ruins of a shattered reality – and their rush to offer humour, perspective and life-force to help rebuild it.

“I think of the woman who passed on an email sent by her husband after hearing my letter on television, in which he acknowledged for the first time how he had treated her six years ago and vowed to seek help.

“Kindness is creative – in the form of people wanting to send me their work. Framed prints proudly stating ‘I Took the Cat’, a jumper proclaiming me a member of the ‘Strong Girls Club’. A (brilliant) book from two writers that celebrated fierce females throughout history, containing a personalised card with the immortal Dorothy Parker quote: ‘It serves me right for putting all my eggs in one bastard.’

I wrote a little suttin’ suttin’ for the magazine based on my favourite song. Link is in my bio. It’s #worldkindnessday so wanted to share this. The girl who helped peel me off the floor on October 6th said recently ‘Whenever anyone had described me as ‘kind’, I always wish they’d thought of something less dumpy’. It made me laugh, pause and think. And the Amazons at @britishvogue asked if I’d like to write about the support I received following this big old mess. And after I’d stopped hyperventilating I did. And then @maxlacome took my pictures ??? #kindness #support #writing #love #feminism #empowerment #selfworth #power #support #supportyourfriends #friendship #girl #women #queen (ps that funny girl was @sensibleclaire and she’s not only the greatest she knows how to kickbox so??)

“Thank you everyone for your kindness. It has gifted me the tools to sweep up the shattered bits and rebuild myself – but better. This time round I shall be diamond studded with self worth.”

Strictly Come Dancing continues this Saturday (November 17).
