Strictly’s Kevin Clifton ‘impressed’ with Anneka Rice’s dance moves on first day

Kevin Clifton admitted he was "impressed" with Anneka Rice's dance moves despite reports he was "fuming" the TV presenter was his partner.

Following their first day at rehearsals, Anneka quickly uploaded a video of the pair, and admitted it was "the best day of her life".

Talking to the camera, she exclaimed: "First day at dance school! I loved it! Kevin is a dream."

Kevin quipped: "Very impressed, very happy."

"I loved that so much," Anneka added. "Honestly Kevin I think that’s almost the best day I’ve had in my entire life.

"I’m spoiled Kevin. I love you. I’m really buzzing as they say on Love Island."

Anneka also revealed the secret to their successful dance training is when things get a "bit too much", Kevin nips down to the lower floor cafe for a black coffee while she snacks on a bun.

Kevin added: "You were brilliant. You were amazing today."

The video captured a positive outcome to the new pairing as reports suggested Kevin was "fuming" the show's bosses decided to pair him up with the veteran presenter.

According to Strictly sources, the Grimsby born dancer is seeing his partnership with the TV host as "punishment" for striking up a romance with his former dance partner Stacey Dooley.

The duo, who went on to win last year's series, were both adamant nothing happened on the show, and only started dating months later.

A source told The Sun: "Kevin has told pals he would have preferred someone like Catherine Tyldesley or Alex Scott.

“He calls himself King Kevin and wanted to make Strictly history by winning back to back titles.
