BGT branded a ‘fix’ after singer from Amanda Holden’s BBC show auditions

Britain's Got Talent viewers have branded the ITV show a fix once more after seeing a singer from Amanda Holden's BBC show audition.

On Saturday's episode (May 22), the show saw a musical group called Welsh on the West End audition for the judges.

The talented choir consists of ten professional performers who already currently perform – or have previously performed – in London's famous West End.

The group sang an impressive rendition of The Greatest Showman's From Now On.

The four judges which included Simon Cowell, David Walliams, Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden were all blown away by their stellar performance.

All four stars on the top table gave them yeses and sent the soaring through to the next round.

Though viewers at home recognised one of the auditionees, Tom Hier, from another one of judge Amanda's shows.

The singer had previously performed on the BBC's I Can See Your Voice, for which Amanda is also a judge on.

During Christmas Special in 2021, Tom appeared on the programme and even sang the same song from The Greatest Showman.

Viewers stormed to Twitter, with one BGT fan writing: "In other news, how does Amanda Holden not recognise Tom from Welsh of the West End – I did from his other show he did where she was a judge.

"And Sophie Evans from Over The Rainbow. This is starting to get into fix territory @BGT."

Another tweeted: "Wasn’t one of the singers on I can hear your voice at Christmas on BBC 1 and song this #BGT."

The revelation seemed to leave a sour taste in fans' mouths as many thought it could give him an advantage and branded it a "fix".

However, many previous contestants have appeared on other programmes before auditioning.

Viewers also recognised contestant Sophie Evans who was the runner-up on Over the Rainbow in 2010.

She has since gone on to play Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz and Glinda in the West End production of Wicked in 2017.

The show was also branded a "fix" when the singer of Never Enough from The Greatest Showman Lorena Allred was given the golden buzzer by Amanda earlier on in the series.

One viewer wrote: "Fix. Great singer, but it's Britains Got Talent…….. should stop inviting acts that are already successful from around the globe. Otherwise rebrand the show….."
