Cheryl has lost nearly 30,000 followers since starring on The Greatest Dancer

CHERYL Tweedy has lost nearly 30,000 Twitter followers since joining The Greatest Dancer.

The 35-year-old star has seen a huge fall in followers since she began as a dance 'captain' alongside Oti Mabuse and Matthew Morrison.

Stats show that Chezza's follower count has gone into reverse ever since she joined the show, dipping by an average 510 per day.

However, despite being 24,500 down throughout The Greatest Dancer, which started on January 5, she doesn't have too much to worry about – as she still has a staggering 6.1 million followers left.

Cheryl goes into the show tonight with just one act remaining – school friends Harry and Eleiyah – and her social media following may have an impact on who wins.

Online experts Socialbakers have said that she is by far the most influential judge on social media, giving her act an advantage.

They explained: "Cheryl’s influence and popularity is a huge advantage for her contestants and will surely provide the boost Harry and Eleiyah need to win the show on Saturday night."

Why people have left the @CherylOfficial account is not known, with counts often fluctuating due to Twitter clearing out automated 'bot' followers.

Harry and Eleiyah are up against Oti's Latin-dancing youngsters KLA and solo dancer Ellie Ferguson, plus Matthew Morrison's James and Oliver for the £50,000 prize.

After The Greatest Dancer ends tonight, Cheryl is hotly tipped to be joining Strictly – with the star asking pro dancer Katya Jones for secret dance lessons.

She has often taken to the stage to show off her dance movesCheryl teamed up with the professional dancers for a performance on The Greatest Dancer last weekend.

Katya, 29, posed for pictures with Cheryl after the performance, and the Daily Star reported that the singer asked her for secret dance lessons.

Katya said: "Cheryl wanted to know everything. She was saying to me: 'Katya… show me how to move my hips, show me your arm movements, what do I do?'

"And then she was practising. She was loving it. And she was really good."
