Coronation Street viewers were disappointed on Friday night as a light-hearted spider storyline left them feeling quite baffled.
In the episode, restaurant worker Alya Nazir was left stressed out when a customer bought a tarantula into Speed Daal that unfortunately became loose in the premises without anyone's knowing.
But the far fetched scenes didn't seem to sit well with fans as they compared the soap to Fawlty Towers and Carry On films.
Taking to Twitter, viewers aired their thoughts on what was taking place.
One fan questioned: Is this ‘Carry On up Coronation Street’?
Another chimed: "#corrie it is becoming a bit like Fawlty towers or Flowry t**ts… is John Cleese a guest writer?"
