Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon) is desperate to buy the barbers from Audrey Roberts (Sue Nicholls).
But, she’s horrified when she discovers a huge credit card bill and accuses Gary of keeping it from her.
Gary fears he can’t keep on top of his various business ventures and worries he’ll have to resort to drastic measures.
The former loan shark tells Fiz Stape (Jennie McAlpine) he has to cut her hours at the furniture shop.

Unbeknownst to Gary, Ray overhears his conversation and plots a takeover of the Underworld factory.
Ray tells Gary he’s got a business proposition for him and offers £150,000 for the factory.
The murderous businessman declines Ray’s offer but the restaurateur isn’t put off.
When Maria hears of Ray’s offer she tries to persuade her husband to sell the factory but he doesn’t want to listen.
Maria knows the money from the factory sale could help her buy the barbershop and she’s desperate to have a business of her own.
Later, Gary confronts Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) over the increased rent of the furniture shop.
Kevin is forced to admit he sold the premises to Ray as Gary begins to consider the restaurant’s offer.
The former loan shark heads over to the Bistro and demands Ray doubles his offer if he wants the factory.

But, with his new wife urging him to take the large sum of cash, will Gary give in?
Later, Gary’s stunned when Ray ups his offer to £400,000 and he’s forced to consider his options.
The furniture dealer has huge credit card debts and needs to come up with the money to help Maria buy the barbers to keep her happy.
Underworld seems to be the only viable money-making option he has left but Gary realises the factory could be part of Ray’s masterplan for the cobbles.
Will Gary crumble under the pressure and accept his offer or stand his ground?
Or will Gary trick Ray by letting him buy Underworld but including a sneaky clause in the contract?
