Dan Walker makes Carol Kirkwood ‘yawn’ as he halts BBC Breakfast for golf story

BBC Breakfast presenter Dan Walker bought the show to a standstill on Monday morning as he went on to discuss a longwinded golf story with an unimpressed Louise Minchin and Carol Kirkwood.

Former sports presenter Dan couldn't wait to share the news regarding the oldest Gold player, Richard Bland who became the European Tour's oldest first-time winner last week.

Before turning to meteorologist Carol, an excited Dan warned the ladies that he had to get this golf story off his chest.

Dan said to his co-host Louise: "We're gonna go to Carol in a minute but I want to mention something that is linked to weather but is also a brilliant story."

He added: "It does involve golf but don't do the golf face just yet."

Louise replied: "What's my golf face…look Carol's actually yawning!"

Dan then proceeded to tell a long winded story about Richard Bland's reaction to finally winning after several attempts.

Once the broadcaster had finally finished, an unenthusiastic Carol said: "Wow."

But just like Carol and Louise, some breakfast viewers were rather disengaged with Dan's story too and took to Twitter to express their views.

One viewer penned: "I’ve forgotten that golf story already…[yawn face emoji]"
