Dan Walker and his Strictly Come Dancing professional Nadiya Bychkova were back to see if they could climb the leaderboard as the competition hit the halfway point. They performed a Couple’s Choice to the song Classic by MKTO and it was clear the pair were putting lots of energy into their routine to try and impress the panel and the viewers of the BBC show. However, it seemed the BBC Breakfast presenter walked off when he received his results after he also revealed a bit too much about his nether regions to presenter Claudia Winkleman.

As soon as Dan and Nadiya finished their performance, they were praised for making the judges smile during their performance.

However, they were heavily critiqued on their technique and the presenter was told he really needed to work on his form.

Once their time with the panel was up, they headed to speak with Claudia and give a breakdown on how they fit about their efforts.

After the host mentioned how the contestant seemed to like performing lifts, he said he wanted to give her a “little Strictly insight”.

The news presenter said: “My right bum cheek has suffered this week. I have about three metres of physio tape on it.”

“There’s no hair left on there either,” he continued, before looking at Nadiya and asking if he had revealed “too much”.

The professional dancer said he had gone a little off-piste and Claudia also called Dan out for his bum comments.

“I think there is a line and we bounced right over it,” she said before the contestant issued “a formal apology” for oversharing.

He apologised another three times to the viewers watching at home and Claudia asked the judges to reveal their scores.

With their first Couple’s Choice receiving mixed reviews, the pair accumulated a total of 28 out of a possible 40.

Pleased head judge Shirley Ballas had given them an eight, whereas the rest of the panel scored lower, he thanked her immeasurably.

However, in doing so, he quickly walked off the screen where he had previously been viable on the camera, elating Nadiya on her own.

By the time Anton Du Beke gave his score of seven, Dan was back with Nadiya and ended his commentary with Claudia.

On Twitter, viewers commented on Dan’s bum comment, with World of Film and TV stating: “My condolences to Dan’s bum hair #strictly #strictlycomedancing #Strictly2021.”

Karen added: “Dan looks too pure for hairy bum cheeks #Strictly.”

According to the latest odds from Coral bookmakers, Olympic diver Adam Peaty is the favourite to be eliminated from the competition.

After being in the bottom two during Halloween week, he and his professional dancing partner Katya Jones had to do a lot to avoid the axe once more.

The sportsman’s chances of leaving the show are at 7/4, with BBC Breakfast presenter Dan Walker next in line at 5/2.

On the other end of the spectrum, it could be EastEnders actress Rose Ayling-Ellis who ends up winning the latest season.

She and Giovanni Pernice made history last weekend when they achieved the earliest 40 any contestant has ever had on the show.

At the moment, she is at 7/4 to take home the Glitterball Trophy, with her closest competition being John What at 11/2.

Coral spokesperson John Hill said: “Adam Peaty may be set for his last length of the Strictly dance floor this weekend.

“The Olympic gold medal swimmer tops the betting to be eliminated next. The betting suggests it is likely to be a dance-off between Peaty and Dan Walker this weekend,

“Rose Ayling-Ellis continues to shorten in the outright betting for the Glitterball Trophy. She is long odds-on to prevail at the end of the series.”

There are only six episodes left of the series so everything could change ahead of the gripping finale.

Strictly Come Dancing: The Results airs Sunday at 7:15pm on BBC One.
