EastEnders aired an exciting development on Tuesday night as Sharon Watts teamed up with ex Phil Mitchell so she can invest into the Queen Vic pub with Linda Carter.
Only recently, it was revealed that half of the pub is up for investment after Mick Carter appeared to be "killed off" over Christmas after he disappeared at sea.
Sharon promised to help out best friend Linda and that she could only invest if she could find an investor for the gym as she tried to go into business with Nish Panesar.
However, upon learning about the Queen Vic pub, Nish decided to pull out of the business deal and focus on Linda as well as the open share in the boozer.
In a desperate bid to get the Queen Vic after Nish's betrayal, Sharon turned to ex Phil, who has sold off a lot of his businesses and had cash available.
After convincing Phil to invest in the gym, after pointing out he had essentially retired and he's only one of the few people she trusts in Albert Square, the Walford hardman decided to invest – on one condition, he could be involved in the makeover.
At first, Kat Slater was wary over the deal but soon had a change of heart when it was agreed she would be involved and would help run the gym.
Later, Sharon headed to the Queen Vic to tell Linda the good news, she said: "Going into partnership with you! I have got the funds to match the Panesars and this beats their offer."
The update comes as fans think they have figured out who Sharon is marrying in this year's special Christmas episode after a flashforward clue on Monday.
In a BBC One soap first, fans were shown a 2023 flashforward scene on Monday of six of Walford’s much loved matriarchs, Denise (Diane Parish), Kathy (Gillian Taylforth), Linda (Kellie Bright), Sharon ( Letitia Dean ), Stacey ( Lacey Turner ) and Suki (Balvinder Sopal) faced with a dead body.
In the moments that unfolded at the Queen Vic, the group of women all stood round in shock in a festive-looking pub and looked down at a man lying on the floor.
Not much was said between the six of them, but Stacey was covered in blood, Denise was holding a smashed bottle of Champagne and Sharon wore a bloodied wedding dress as she leant over the body, confirming the person was dead.
However, it’s unclear whose body it is and what’s happened to them…
Fans were quick to point out Sharon being a bride and the Queen Vic being used as a wedding reception venue – and while it would appear to be her on-off beau Keanu Taylor as the groom, some viewers think it's someone else!
Some eagle-eyed viewers have speculated that Phil could be the groom thanks to a Lola Pearce clue hidden within the scene.
Fans spotted a picture of Lola on the bar next to Linda, appearing to confirm that Lola will die before Christmas, and soap watchers think this proves Phil is the man that Sharon is marrying.
EastEnders continues Monday to Thursday at 7:30pm on BBC One.
