EastEnders: Lucas and Chelsea speak to Denise outside church
EastEnders resident Denise Fox (played by Diane Parish) was left in turmoil last night when her daughter Chelsea (Zaraah Abrahams) and ex-husband Lucas Johnson (Don Gilet) found themselves back in her life amid her desperation to give young son Raymond the perfect family Christmas. However, with sparks already flying, actress Diane has revealed there is “a lot of peril” to come for her character as her eldest daughter’s motives start to unravel.
Last night, BBC viewers saw a newly recast Chelsea back alongside her serial killer father in difficult scenes for Denise.
Ex-pastor Lucas turned up at the festive church service Denise was attending with Raymond as she tried to retain some normality into his life.
As he tried to repent for his sins, Denise desperately tried to usher her son out of the church – but Lucas, unfortunately, spotted his former partner in the congregation.
And if that wasn’t enough of a worry for Denise, the hurt only worsened when she realised her daughter was in on things.

Chelsea and Denise came to blows when it became clear they both had some huge secrets hidden from each other.
Whilst Denise hadn’t made her daughter aware of Raymond’s existence, Chelsea had kept quiet about her reconnection with her father.
With Chelsea and Lucas, both set to remain in the picture, it won’t be long before the former makes some surprising revelations.
Now, actress Diane has opened up about the return of her daughter and how her alter-ego feels.
She explained: “She feels shocked and betrayed and then worries for Chelsea and what she’s doing.
“She should be really thrilled and happy to see her daughter, who she hasn’t seen on Christmas Day in a while.
“So that is a lovely thing but she shouldn’t have been standing next to her murdering father,” the star added.
Diane went on to divulge what her daughter will have to say for herself – with some major bombshells to come.

She said: “There is a lot of peril coming up, a lot of surprising revelations and the tenacity of her daughter is revealed.
“I think what will be nice to see that relationship between Denise and her eldest child because in some ways they are very alike.”
She continued: “In some ways, they are too alike and in some ways, they are very different which is frustrating.”
New face Zaraah has confirmed there will be some fiery scenes ahead with her on-screen parents in episodes to come.
Speaking about why her character has reunited with Lucas, Zaraah shared: “She ends up being back on the Square with her dad because he has been released out of prison.
“She is wanting to forgive him for all that he’s done and she believes that he has changed.
“Whether he has or not – we shall see. I think Chelsea might have a few of her dads traits. They’re not the duo you expect,” teased Zaraah.
But what are Lucas and Chelsea’s real reasons for being back in the Square?
