Emmerdale star 'lands huge Hollywood role' after leaving soap

Emmerdale star Max Parker will star in a major upcoming series, it is claimed.

The actor, who portrayed Luke Posner on the ITV soap, has landed a role in Vampire Academy.

According to reports, he is filming in Spain for the series, which will be produced by The Vampire Diaries’ Julie Plec and will air on streaming service Peacock in the US.

Vampire Academy, based on the novel series of the same name, was previously adapted for the big screen in 2014.

‘His role is being kept hush hush but it’s a good sign Max has avoided the soap star curse so soon after leaving the Dales,’ a source told The Sun.

Metro.co.uk has reached out to Max’s reps for comment.

It was revealed back in May that, after two years on Emmerdale, Max had decided to leave the serial drama.

‘Max was never going to stay on the soap for years,’ a source told the publication at the time.

‘He’s ambitious and a talented guy – he’s already auditioning for new roles and excited for the future.

‘But never say never – there’s always a chance he could return one day.’

His final scenes aired on June 16, as Luke resolved to leave the village and never return.

Luke had been secretly messaging men on a gay dating app, and he had previously had a full relationship with a man named Stephen, something which he refrained from telling girlfriend Victoria Barton (Isabel Hodgins) about.

But it was the revelation that he could have had a part to play in Lee’s (Kris Mochrie) death that left Victoria reeling, as she struggled to get her head around the fact that he let Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) go down for the crime, and never said anything.

Unable to convince Victoria to give him another chance, he packed his bags and drove out of the village.
