If you’re a fan of MTV’s Ex On The Beach, then you’re going to love a new lockdown spin-off that is hitting screens next month and set to star not only an actual Sugababe, but a whole host of Love Island stars and Paul Hollywood’s ex.
Celeb Ex in the City is a brand new dating show which will land on MTV in December and while it may not have the beach or a lavish villa to host its stars, it still promises that dreaded tablet of terror and all the drama that comes with it, just a lot closer to home.
You see, this time round the stars will be heading out on blind dinner dates, but little do they know that their exes will be dropping in too. Brutal.
The show’s first episode is set to be a scorcher, with Summer Monteys-Fullam, who is best known for dating Great British Bake Off judge Paul, confronting her ex Towie star Liam Gatsby, who she reportedly had a fling with last year.
A 30-second trailer teases what’s to come in the first episode of Celeb Ex in the City and it looks like Summer has unfinished business while making her reality TV debut.
As she gatecrashes Liam’s date, Summer is seen fuming as Liam (probably rehashing their break up) is heard saying: ‘I said, “you’re not the girl for me,” what’s wrong with that?’
Less than impressed, Summer hits back: ‘Are you joking?’
Summer previously dated baker Paul, following his split from wife Alexandra who he was married to for 20 years.
They confirmed their split in 2017 and Paul went on to date Summer, who previously revealed she was ‘besotted’ with the TV star at the beginning of their relationship.
Paul and Summer broke up in 2019 after two years of dating, with Summer reportedly dumping the Bake Off star after she refused to sign a gagging order and Paul accusing Summer of ‘playing games’.
Things turned bitter and Summer later alleged that her celebrity ex had sent her over 25 legal letters.
Taking to Instagram, Summer confirmed that she ‘had no alternative but to instruct my solicitors Brett Wilson LLP to pursue legal proceedings against Paul’, while stating she had been left ‘deeply disappointed’ that their romance had ended in such a way.
Also set to make an appearance on the spin-off is Sugababe star Amelle, who replaced OG member Mutya Buena, Calum Best, Big Brother star Aisleyne Horgan Wallace and I’m A Celebrity’s Malique Thompson Dwyer.
A whole host of Love Island stars will be stopping by too including Amy Hart, Michael Griffiths, Jess Gale and Megan Barton-Hanson.
The celebrities will awkwardly have to decide at the end of the date whether they want to see their blind date again or date their ex instead.
Celeb Ex in the City was filmed prior to the second national lockdown in the UK and in accordance with government health and safety guidelines, as well as social distancing measures.
Celeb Ex in the City airs Tuesday December 8 at 9pm on MTV.
