GBBO fans heartbroken as Laura cries over maths GCSE as she struggles to bake

Great British Bake Off viewers were left heartbroken tonight when contestant Laura Adlington cried while baking because she failed her maths GCSE.

During tonight's semi-final, Laura left viewers moved after she began crying about the results she received for GCSE maths as she struggled to work out timings and amounts while baking.

The star was making a cornucopia but sadly it didn't compare to her fellow contestants Peter, Hermine and Dave and the judges were quick to tell her they weren't keen.

A disappointed Laura then took on the second challenge but sadly it saw her break down into tears as she moaned that she couldn't do it.

While looking at the instructions, Laura broke down as she told presenter Matt Lucas she can't do it because she is bad at maths.

After the host comforted her, she wiped her tears and began to give it a go but some fans couldn't believe what they were seeing while others agreed that they too would struggle.

One tweeted: "Laura crying about her GCSE maths some 15 years later is peak television."

A second said: "Watching Laura cry over the technical instructions has given me horrible flashbacks to maths class #GBBO."

"Laura crying is so me when presented with anything logical. I’ve taken to shouting 'I’m not stupid, I’m just panicking' when I’m asked a technical or maths question #gbbo," said another.

One more said: "Laura reading the sheet and crying was me when I did GCSE Maths. #GBBO."

It comes after were transported Back To The Future on Tuesday as the remaining six bakers took part in 80s week but the heat inside the tent got to Laura last week.

Things heated up in the famous tent as the bakers attempted to make ice cream cakes in the scorching hot weather.

Frustrated contestant Laura turned the air blue and said: "Oh god, oh god, oh f**k. Worse case scenario, it has not set. It's a f**king mess," with the swear words being beeped out.

GBBO viewers at home rushed to their keyboards to support Laura' after her foul-mouthed meltdown.

Taking to Twitter, one penned: "Laura swears like a trooper, girl after my own heart."

Another added: "Poor Laura! Protect her at all costs."

A third said: "Loving Laura just slamming the door on the ice cream cake…that's 2020 summed up perfectly."
