On Monday’s instalment of Good Morning Britain, hosts Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley were touching on whether or not Prince Harry and Meghan Markle should attend King Charles III’s coronation in May. However, it looked as though many viewers were unimpressed with the two royals being discussed on the show.

It’s been reported King Charles III has given Prince Harry and Meghan Markle an olive branch by inviting them both to his coronation later this year.

Over the past few months, there has been heavy speculation on whether or not The Sussexes would receive an invite to the royal event following the fallout from Harry’s memoir Spare.

The coronation, which is set to take place on May 6 at Westminster Abbey, also falls on the same day as their son Archie’s fourth birthday.

Despite the duo receiving an invite, a spokesperson for the couple has not yet confirmed whether or not they’d be attending.

On Monday’s instalment of Good Morning Britain, it looked as though Prince Harry and Meghan Markle became one of the main subjects of debate throughout the ITV show.

Asking whether or not they should accept the coronation invite, guest Lin Mei revealed she believed it wouldn’t be genuine if they went.

She commented: “They probably will, they’re dammed if they do, they’re dammed if they don’t.

“However, I think no matter which side you [are] in terms of your opinion of Harry and Meghan, it’s disingenuous if they come.

“They’ll lose credibility even more so. They’ve gone with this narrative that almost they’re oppressed and they’ve suffered with the Royal Family.

“If Harry is genuine about keeping the door open like he said, then there should be a level of conversation around that to say, ‘You know what, I’ve said enough, I’ve said my experience, now I want to heal with my family’.”

However, it looked as though many viewers of Good Morning Britain didn’t seem bothered by the debate as they slammed the show for covering Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

Lorrainesprat slammed: “I don’t bl**dy care what they do. Enough already!”

Shawtty64 added: “God know why @GMB keep giving them air time. If they accept they accept, if they don’t they don’t. Move on … so many more important things happening in the world to report on.”

Srossroberts said: “Please stop making news out of one privileged person going to another privileged person’s huge party when the majority of the UK is struggling with rising food, fuel and gas and electric prices….we need to stop fuelling this debate.”

Angela28279009 fumed: “Seriously this is what you’re going with after everything that has come out over the weekend???”

Stubilaroo tweeted: “Bothered! More important things to concentrate on!”

The guest continued to tell Susanna and Richard unless the royal couple wanted to move on, they shouldn’t attend the event.

A spokesperson for the Sussexes said: “I can confirm the duke has recently received email correspondence from His Majesty’s office regarding the coronation.

“An immediate decision on whether the duke and duchess will attend will not be disclosed by us at this time.”

Good Morning Britain continues weekdays on ITV1 and ITVX from 6am.
