Katie Price 'was worse for wear' at ex-lover Kris Boyson's 30th birthday party before 'drink-drive crash' as cops release her from custody

The Sun revealed the former glamour model was nicked by cops after her £75k pink Range Rover was found crashed in a bush in Woolwich, South East London, at around 2am.

The star was forced to spend the night in a police cell after being found by officers inside the damaged vehicle and asked to take a breath test.

Price had partied at the 30th birthday bash of her ex-boyfriend Kris Boyson at The Meze restaurant in Bexleyheath in the hours before her arrest.

An eye-witness said Price had rowed with current boyfriend Alex Adderson, 25, and was seeking comfort from Boyson before leaving the venue.

They told Mail Online: "We were having a few drinks when someone said to Kris, 'someone is here to see you'.

"The next thing Katie’s there. She looked a bit worse for wear – I think she just turned up as everyone was quite shocked.

"Kris got up and welcomed her after the shock; I have met her before so she was ok with me. Kris and her walked off for a chat so we left them to it."

Boyson was pictured at Plumstead Police Station in South East London this afternoon as he waited for his former partner.

Metropolitan Police confirmed the 40-year-old had been released under investigation a short time later.

Pictures have also emerged of the star's battered vehicle after it had been recovered from the scene.

The arrest comes just days after Price decided to take a break from a 28-day rehab stint at The Priory after undergoing treatment for PTSD.

Price had attended Boyson's 30th birthday party at the swanky restaurant in Bexleyheath, South East London.

Pictures and video showed boozy scenes as dozens of pals downed shots inside the venue.

BTP officers alerted Met Police colleagues and Katie was taken to a nearby police station, where she was examined by a doctor.

It is understood she was not injured in the crash and did not need medical treatment.

Her fingerprints, mugshot and a DNA saliva sample were taken, as is routine for any suspect arrested over a criminal offence.

Police now have until the early hours of tomorrow morning to decide whether to charge Prince.

A Met Police spokesman said: "A 40-year-old woman who was inside the car was arrested on suspicion of drink driving.

"She was taken to a south London police station. She has been released under investigation."

Last month, Kris dumped the star after five months of dating. The couple had hit the headlines for a number of steamy snaps of the couple holidaying together.

The incident comes following a turbulent year for the star, which has already seen her fall foul of the law over driving offences.

In February, the 40-year-old was banned from driving for six months after being clocked doing 60mph on the 50mph A24 in her £75,000 Land Rover.

The Sun on Sunday revealed in July that police had been alerted to pictures of the star driving two weeks before the end of her ban.

Price later confessed on Instagram, explaining she had been driving son Harvey to hospital. She blamed an “emotional rollercoaster” for her decision to drive while banned.

She said at the time: "Been on such an emotional rollercoaster the last 6 months and my head has been all over the place, so much so, that I thought my driving ban was up.

Katie Price could be JAILED for up to six months

KATIE Price could be jailed for up to six months after she was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving.

Being in charge of a vehicle while above the legal limit or unfit through drink carries a three-month sentence, possible driving ban and a £2,500 fine.

And driving or attempting to drive while above the legal limit or unfit through drink could mean jail for six months, an unlimited fine and a driving ban of at least one year.

Both charges carry aggravating features that could increase the length of a prison sentence – including previous convictions relating to the nature of the offence.

Price has already fallen foul of the law for driving offences and was banned from getting behind the wheel in February after being clocked doing 60mph on the 50mph A24.

"After driving to Harvey's Hospital appointment I have NOW found out that I don't get my licence back until 8th August. With this on my conscience I called police and reported myself.

"I've come such a long way and just want easy life now. 'I have got out of a hole and am finally happy and looking forward to being my old independent self."

Just weeks later she was filmed slumping to the floor after rapping the words “I love coke” during a wild party with two men she met in a bar.

The Loose Women panellist recently revealed she has been receiving treatment at The Priory after being diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder.

The telly favourite was also banned from driving in September 2012 after failing to respond to two speeding tickets, arguing that her mum handled her post.

Katie has endured a traumatic year, including her split from husband Kieran Hayler.

She is reportedly putting her £2million home on the market and is flogging belongings due to money woes.

Earlier this year, she found out her mum Amy, 64, was terminally ill with lung disease idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.
