LITTLE Mix have revealed the secret to a long career which has seen them become one of the most successful girl groups in UK music history.
Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Jade Thirlwall and Perrie Edwards said that, since winning The X Factor in 2011, they have never allowed one of them to become the group’s lead singer.
And following the departure of Jesy Nelson in December, they have confirmed they will be keeping it that way.
In a new interview, Jade explained: “We have always had the same vision, we always wanted to be equal. Nobody wanted to outshine someone else.
“The moment that happens in a group dynamic, the cracks start to show, like someone has a bit more of an ego. We have always been determined to remain equal people on our team, whoever else has suggested otherwise.
“We have said no, we know it works better, it is healthier for us doing it that way. And it has got us where we are now.
“We have the same ambition and the same agenda and are there for each other without trying to outdo each other.”
The girls — who have notched up five No1 singles and six Top Ten albums so far — are set to re-enter the charts this week with a remix of their single Confetti with American rapper Saweetie.
And while their latest album of the same name narrowly missed out on the No1 spot, Perrie said the trio were already moving forward.
She added: “We have loads of songs waiting in the wings that we have written and new collaborations that are coming out soon as well. There is a lot going on.”
Since the group left Simon Cowell’s record label Syco for RCA in 2018, Jade said they also felt they had taken control of their output.
She explained: “A few times we have felt pushed into a direction or a song. Almost like a bribe, like ‘if you don’t do this song you can’t have that’.
“There was a point where there was a bit of that and that was a bit unsettling for us.”
Speaking about what they had learned from the past decade, Leigh-Anne said on the Zach Sang radio show in the US: “We have more confidence in our- selves.
“Negative comments don’t phase you as much because you know you are amazing.
“Sod the trolls and anyone who has anything bad to say because we haven’t got time for it.”
Good for them . . .

Life's rosy for Hailey
HAILEY Bieber has her summer style all tied up in this bubble-gum pink bikini.
The model looked effortlessly cool in the string-style two-piece and gold body chain. Hailey posted the snap during a weekend away with her husband, Canadian superstar Justin.
The pair, who married in 2018, posted a number of pictures from their break, with Justin saying of Hailey: “Definition of a bad bitch. Strong, confident, independent, loyal. Still can’t believe you chose me.”
Their marriage hasn’t always been plain sailing, though, with the singer telling GQ mag: “The first year was really tough. There was a lack of trust.
“There was all these things you don’t want to admit to the person that you’re with, because it’s scary.”
Given how smitten the pair are now, I’d say they both got over their fears pretty quickly.
DIVERSITY are plotting a return to our screens, with Jordan Banjo revealing they have held talks about making a documentary series on the dance troupe.
In an exclusive chat with his Kiss FM breakfast show co-host and fellow Diversity dancer Perri Kiely, Jordan said of the fly-on-the-wall film: “We’ve had conversations about it. It’s finding the right people to do it and giving yourself enough time to get sorted properly.
“The hard part is that, when there is always so much stuff going on, how do we fit it in?
“Fly-on-the-wall things are not just fly-on-the-wall, are they? It takes more time – and you want it to be done properly.
“We’re going to put on an 80-date tour then bring in a film crew. Let’s make sure it’s entertaining.”
Perri added: “It would be really cool. It would be nice to watch online, like a YouTube thing.
“You can see the inner workings. There’s so much more than meets the eye.”
THEY have to decide on other people’s singing abilities on the BBC’s new telly contest I Can Hear Your Voice.
But Amanda Holden says she and co-star judges Jimmy Carr, Alison Hammond and Paddy McGuinness sometimes forget that as they try to pick the real singer from lip-syncers.
In an exclusive chat with the panel, Amanda said: “We are competitive. Although it isn’t about us, we are trying our best to make it about us.
“There is a little bit of rivalry going on, and we do blame each other if a good singer gets taken out.”
Comic Jimmy was keen to challenge Amanda.
He explained: “Both Amanda and I are quite divaish and glamorous, so we compete.”
On Jimmy’s competitive streak, Amanda chirped back: “Despite his new hair and teeth, Jimmy will never be able to compete with the glamour and laughter that Alison and I bring to the show.
“I adore Alison and it’s well overdue that she’s been given the chance to shine so brightly on prime-time television. I’ve been a fan of hers for over a decade and it’s been a joy working with her.”
Ballooned a bit, Beckham?
HE’S reported to be worth more than £300million, has luxury homes all over the world and is the co-owner of American football team Inter Miami CF.
So when it’s David Beckham’s birthday, the footie legend’s wife Victoria has admitted it’s a struggle to know what to get him.
In an interview as David turned 46 today, Posh said: “What do you buy the man who has everything? Check out Instagram this weekend and you might get a glimpse.”
True to her word, Victoria and their four kids, Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper, unveiled the gifts – balloon lookalikes of the former England footie captain.
Posting a picture of the enormous, air-filled doppelgangers online, Victoria wrote: “There are similarities, I can’t lie.”
If you say so, Vic.
WHILE she keeps us waiting for new music, Jessie J is working on starting a new Instagram trend.
After sharing a sexy bikini picture on Friday, where she posed in the sea with her hands on her head, the Domino singer has recreated it here.
She said of her pose: “How long can I keep these hands-on- head bikini pics going for tho?”
For a lot longer, I hope . . .
