Little Mix's Jade Thirlwall bags first major solo collaboration with top DJ

JADE THIRLWALL is working around the clock to make sure she enjoys solo success – just weeks after Little Mix announced their hiatus.

I’ve learned she has already got a top collaboration, having written a dance track with DJ and producer Jax Jones.

He is hoping it will help her top the charts.

Letting slip about their tune, Jax — whose latest single Phases with Sinead Harnett appears on the Pokémon: 25 Years album — told me: “Little Mix’s success is made up of all their individual talents, so I am sure they will all find a way to express themselves musically.

“I was in the studio with Jade and she is mega-cool and super-talented. She is also such fun to be around.

“We wrote something really cool so hopefully that can come out too.”

I previously revealed that Jade is in advanced talks with Atlantic Records after impressing industry bosses with her solo music, while Little Mix bandmates Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Perrie Edwards are also believed to be thrashing out deals to launch their solo careers.

A music insider said: “Jade’s been working super-hard on the new music and those who have heard the tracks say they sound amazing.

“Jade has already met with Sony to talk things through but has really been impressed by Atlantic, and all signs point to her going with them. She has held top-secret talks with them and it’s all really positive.”

I also told how Jade has been snapped up by Full Stop Management — the same company responsible for making Harry Styles a superstar after One Direction went their separate ways.

If she plays her cards right, I don’t see why Jade can’t follow in the footsteps of fellow Geordie Cheryl and become the nation’s sweetheart.

Though unlike Cheryl, I hope she’s not flogging health supplements online in a few years’ time.

Oh sew hectic

GRIFF has wowed with her fashion as well as music after sporting a series of red-carpet outfits she designed and made herself.

But the Brit singer-songwriter has admitted she is so in demand that she barely has time to get out her sketchpad then needle and thread.

She told me: “I try and sew my outfits but the more things are getting busier, the more I can’t. Things are a lot busier in the best way ever. It’s such a contrast to last year. I feel like I’ve been thrown into the deep end.

“I support young designers if I’ve not made my outfits myself.”

Wilde Tames Harry

HARRY Styles and Olivia Wilde's romance may have seemed unlikely when I revealed it exactly a year ago– but things are hotting up.

I have learnt they are taking the next step in their romance, with Harry growing close to her two children with actor Jason Sudeikis. He has also taken Olivia to meet the other woman in his life – his devoted mum, Anne.

A source tells me: “This looked like quite a showbizzy thing at first, two glamorous people hooking up but now it’s obviously a lot more than that.

“They held back a bit at first but now that things are more settled the time was right to do the next thing.

“It’s really exciting for them – and for Harry it’s the most serious he has ever really been about somebody.”

Harry has long had a reputation as a ladies’ man – with glamorous women queuing up to date one of the most eligible bachelor’s in showbiz.

But it looks as though he might finally have met his match.

Madonna's Tory row

MADONNA has accused rapper Tory Lanez of ripping off her song Into The Groove.

He sampled her 1985 hit for his track Pluto’s Last Comet on his album Alone At Prom.

Now Madonna has left a comment on Tory’s Instagram claiming his usage of the song is “illegal”.

Canadian rapper Tory is also alleged to have shot at Megan Thee Stallion's feet following a party in 2020.

It sounds like Madonna is the least of his worries right now.

Lucy hit by hate taunts

LUCY Spraggan has been left shaken after becoming the victim of homophobic abuse since lockdown restrictions ended.

The X Factor singer had to flee a gig this month after a woman verbally assaulted her, but she said it is a worrying trend away from the stage, too.

In an exclusive chat, Lucy, who is lesbian, said: “I’ve never had much homophobic abuse in my life but since we came out of lockdown I’ve had four separate incidents.

“And a man just called me a ‘slag’ on the train for no reason. It feels like something has changed and I feel it at the shows at the moment.”

Lucy said another man shouted a slur at her and her girlfriend over the summer, too.

She recalled: “I played Boardmasters festival in Cornwall. Afterwards I was walking along with my girlfriend and a couple of friends – and a guy just turned around, looked at us holding hands, and was like: ‘D**es!’

“We just looked at each other like, ‘What?’ The nature of people sitting in their house on their computer for two years where you can make a comment with no consequence . . . it has washed out into outdoor society.”

Happy snooze year, Westlife

THEY once were known for their wild antics on the road but Westlife now prefer an early night in bed with a cuppa, instead of shots until dawn.

During an exclusive chat with the lads – Nicky Byrne, Mark Feehily, Shane Filanand Kian Egan – they told me that after years of caning it, an early bedtime on New Year’s Eve is more and more appealing.

Nicky said: “I get to bed at 12.10pm on New Year’s Eve – just fireworks and countdown and then bed. It’s great.”

Mark added: “My dream is to go to bed before 12 o’clock and just go to sleep. I’d love to do it. My friends did it a few years ago and I thought it weird but now I think there is something in it.” Agreeing he’s already in the early-night club, Shane chimed in: “I skip New Year’s Eve loads of times.

“When we were 20/21 we used to always say we would spend New Year’s in Australia, so maybe we should finally do that next year. “

After the past month of Christmas partying, I’ll struggle to see in 2022 awake.

Cardi B's designer wellies

CARDI B has the perfect footwear for Glastonbury next year, so I’m hoping she pops up.

The US rapper wore these designer wellies to a basketball game in Atlanta, Georgia, along with a North Face jacket – which would be sure to keep her snug at Worthy Farm.

She and her Migos rapper husband Offset, also in wellies, teamed face masks with shades to watch the game. It followed a busy few days which included Offset’s 30th birthday celebration in LA.

Next year is expected to be action-packed, too, with Cardi’s second studio album, as well as her new job as Playboy’s creative director – hence her mega-bling necklace of the magazine’s logo.

It has been a few years since she visited the UK so fans will have to hope she finally makes it in 2022.

Paul's pole star party

I’VE been to some pretty surreal parties during my time in charge of Bizarre but I have nothing on SEAN PAUL’s wild nights.

The rapper has opened up for the first time about winning an American Music Award in 2006 and going back to Paris Hilton's house – where she and Britney Spears pole danced for him while he got high.

Sean won the Best Rock/Pop Male gong at the awards show.

In an exclusive chat, he told me: “I was backstage and Paris came up to me and goes, ‘That’s hot’ – then she invited me to her after party.

“We went to the party and it was crazy. It was in the Hills in this massive house. I was smoking and drinking next to these pizzas stacked to the roof. As I am rolling a spliff I am standing in front of a stripper pole at the side of the kitchen.

“Then Paris Hilton and Britney Spears and I think Nicole Richie were in front of me.

“I was there rolling my spliff and they were on the pole going around in circles and I am like, ‘This is crazy’.

“These three famous ladies were there on a stripper pole in the kitchen as I rolled my spliff then Flava Flav came up to me and bigged me up.

“To see Britney and Paris on that pole was nuts. They weren’t stripping –  if they were then it would have been even more  special. It was one of those crazy nights.”

Sean will be hoping his own shows are just as wild when he kicks off his UK tour in April.

The Scorcha tour starts on April 11 and visits nine venues across the country. I guess my invite must have got lost in the post.
