MICHELLE Heaton broke down in tears on today's Loose Women as she read an emotional letter from her husband.
The recovering alcoholic was overcome with emotion as she read aloud a note her hubby Hugh sent to her when she was in The Priory last year.
Michelle was celebrating being one year sober after her alcoholism left her on the brink of death.
The former Liberty X singer revealed she has asked Hugh's permission in advance about sharing the letter with viewers.
MIchelle broke down when she read a line from Hugh which said: "Your addictive behaviour has robbed me of my wife and the kids of their mummy."
Linda Robson handed her a tissue and gave Michelle a hug as she dabbed at her eyes after becoming emotional.
Michelle said she was reading the letter to show how the "loved ones are affected" by those in "active addiction"
The letter from Hugh read: "Watching you spiral like this has personally been very hard to deal with. I couldn't talk to by my best friend, which was you.
"The last three years I have watched you spiral and turn into someone I don't recognise. The strain that has been put on our relationship has been very demanding and I have been left embarrassed several times by the way you spoke to me in front of people which was never you, you were always by biggest fan.
"Yet I found myself bearing the brunt of your anger and having to shoulder that while also trying to help the kids navigate your new behaviour.
Your addictive behaviour has hurt me a lot personally, Chelle and it has turned you into a liar. You have become someone who is very untrustworthy, your behaviour has robbed me of my wife and the kids of their mummy."
After she had finished reading the letter, Michelle said: "I don't recognise that person…and I am not [that person]. Addiction got me and addiction created that person that I don't even recognise now."
