Money Heist season 5: Fans convinced Alicia is faking pregnancy after major husband clue

Money Heist: Fans believe Tatiana is key in series five events

Netflix subscribers are still throwing out some wild theories for the impending release of the popular Spanish series Money Heist, also known as La Casa De Papel. Some fans of the unpredictable heist drama have suggested Alicia Sierra (played by Najwa Nimri) has been faking her pregnancy throughout the third and fourth seasons.

A popular fan theory surrounding Money Heist villain Alicia Sierra has become more convincing than ever after one viewer uncovered a new detail about the inspector’s late husband, Germán.

Sierra’s dead partner hasn’t been seen in the series so far, as he is claimed to have died of pancreatic cancer shortly before the events of the series’ third season.

The Professor (Álvaro Morte) and his team targeted the Bank of Spain for the second heist of the series, and the ruthless Sierra was tasked with taking him down.

In the Spanish show’s fourth instalment, former inspector Raquel Murillo/Lisbon (Itziar Ituño) faced off against the new rival after switching sides at the end of the first heist.

During their confrontation, Sierra reluctantly admits Germán had passed away around two months before the start of the Professor’s second master plan.

However, one fan speculated the sadistic task force leader fabricated the story, which could also call her heavy pregnancy into question.

Redditor zack-iq revived the persisting theory, and posted: “Something a little fishy is going on.

“In season four I find it kind of weird that no one knew Alicia’s husband except Lisbon.”

“And no one knew he ‘died’ until Alicia was forced to confess that he died by cancer to everyone in the tent.”

A number of other strange character quirks have already led some viewers to believe Alicia Sierra isn’t all she appears to be.

If the inspector is caught out in a lie about her husband when the show returns, it could lead to yet another confession about her fake pregnancy.

Although other viewers have dismissed the theory, there is still a significant pocket of fans who are convinced Sierra is a master manipulator who uses a false pregnancy to achieve her goals.

The original post continued: “I could be reaching here but I feel like she just tried to guilt trip Lisbon and gain sympathy from everyone.

“Makes me wonder what else she’s hiding cough cough (fake pregnancy) only because she doesn’t move like a ‘very pregnant’ woman plus she smokes and drinks a lot of caffeine.”

It’s still unclear to what end Sierra could be lying about herself, but her unconventional behaviour throughout the series has raised a number of questions in the Money Heist fanbase.

At the very least, it appears she is unconcerned with the health of her unborn child, as she frequently indulges in sugary snacks, caffeine and cigarettes.

Alternatively, other fans are certain the fifth and final season will begin with Sierra giving birth in front of the Professor after the last episode ended with the now disgraced inspector holding the master criminal at gunpoint.

One fan argued: “She drinks and smokes because she doesn’t care about the baby. It’s obvious.

“And why would she fake the pregnancy? There’s no reason for that.”

While another elaborated: “Also she let Rio touch the baby and he felt it kicking. I really don’t think she’s faking it. I’m really more into the birth in front of Professor theory.”

Season five will certainly bring the popular series to an explosive conclusion, but many fans will still be keeping a close eye on Alicia Sierra to see if she lets any more secrets spill.

Money Heist season 4 is available to stream on Netflix.
