NCIS Hawaii is the latest spin-off of the ever-expanding CBS procedural drama. Led by Vanessa Lachey as Jane Tennant, the star has proven to be a popular lead for the series. Yet, on Instagram, Lachey gave fans a tragic update on a personal loss.

NCIS Hawaii has been a hit for CBS, with fans loving the latest spin-off of the legendary CBS franchise.

Lachey, 41, made history for the show as the first-ever female lead for NCIS.

So far in the first season, Lachey’s Tennant has been getting her hands dirty, showing she is one of the more action savvy stars in the franchise.

Lachey has also been keeping fans up to date both behind the scenes and with her personal life on social media, with the star posting an upsetting update on November 28.

In the post, Lachey told fans her beloved family dog, Wookie, had passed away.

The star shared an emotional message and picture of the pooch, with fans sending their love and support in response.

The message read: “My Beautiful Wookie. You made me a Mama and us a family. You taught me more than you will ever know.

“The last 15 years have been the best years of my life, a HUGE part of that is because of you.

“Everyone Loved you, Mr Wookerson. Now all the doggies in Heaven get to have you. We Love You & will miss you.”

Lachey’s former Hawaii Five-0 co-star Will Yun Lee, who played Sang Min, replied sharing his own memories with the family pet.

Lee replied: “Broken hearted. Loved that little boy since he was a puppy and now him and Rusty are chasing that squeaky ball like greyhounds in the clouds while Teddy waits to sit on their ball.”

Fan @oodledoodle added: “I’m so sorry for your loss! He’s crossed the rainbow bridge and is having fun with his other doggie friends!”

Lachey regularly keeps fans up to date with what is happening with her personal life, recently sharing family celebrations during the Thanksgiving season.

Lachey wrote: “Season Of Love! From Thanksgiving right into Christmas. The first tradition we started as a family was decorating for Christmas the day after Thanksgiving!”

The Lacheys live in Oahu, Hawaii, and the star just published a novel, Life from Scratch: Family Traditions That Start With You.

The book is a collection of cherished recipes, holiday hacks, birthday traditions, and date night ideas from the actress herself.
