Terese (played by Rebekah Elmaloglou) hasn’t had the easiest time on Neighbours of late, following her split from her estranged husband, Paul Robinson (Stefan Dennis). In upcoming scenes on the Channel 5 soap, she will head to Queensland to attend a conference for the Lassiters Hotel company, which will see her tempted back to the bottle as her battle with alcoholism resurfaces. However, as events spiral out of her control, the beloved Ramsay Street resident could meet her maker as she is involved in a tragic accident.

Speaking exclusively with, actress Rebekah has spoken about her character’s future and whether it will be cut short.

When asked what the next few months look like, The soap star said: “I don’t really know. When we go back [to filming] after our production break, we will start sitting down with the writers.

“So I don’t actually really know which is kind of exciting but I think there is a lot that’s going to happen [soon].

“My storylines over the last year and a half have been really, really quiet and now all of a sudden, we’re being bombarded with Terese.

“I certainly felt that the last few weeks before [the production break] but I think there are lots of exciting [things] that’s going to happen.”

“With the alcohol stuff, I’m not sure where that’s going,” the actress teased but was she referring to her character’s downfall?

As there has been such a focus on Terese over the last couple of months, the writers could be gearing her up to take centre stage in a heartbreaking storyline.

Paul could be very much at the centre of it as his devilish plans to get rid of Nicolette Stone (Charlotte Chimes) could end in disaster.

Knowing his son, David Tanaka (Takaya Honda) needs his daughter’s mother out of their lives for good, the villain could cut the brakes on Nicolette’s car.

Unfortunately, she might not be the one who ends up driving it as an intoxicated Terese could get hold of the keys.

Not sure where that’s going

Not knowing the car has been tampered with, Terese wouldn’t be able to get the car under control if she needed to stop.

This would lead to a devastating accident as the car collides with another vehicle with the beloved character being rushed straight to the hospital.

Once there, the medics would get to work to save the Ramsay Street resident but her injuries could be too great to recover from.

Paul would be left reeling as he would come to the realisation his plans caused his estranged wife’s death, just at the point they could have been turning a page with their relationship.

As a pillar of the Erinsborough community, will the lives of Terese’s friends and neighbours be changed forever following her death?

Discussing her character, Rebekah added: “Yes, she’s so much fun. I mean [there are the time where she and Sheila Canning] are sat eating cake.

“Then there’s the serious and the dramatic side so it is great and I’m very blessed to be able to play [such] a character.

“I get to play all sorts of stuff so it’s like 20 jobs in one. And then I try and do the director’s job and the makeup girl’s job.”

If Terese were to be killed off, this would bring an end to her eight-year stint on the show and the character has her fair share of storylines.

As well as her complicated relationship with Paul, the beloved Ramsay Street resident has been on the cusp of death several times before.

Terese was also a main character in the Lassiters explosion storyline when her son, Josh Willis (Harley Bonner) was killed.

Recently, her grief over her son’s demise was revisited and she was finally able to let him go after five years of heartbreak.

She has also enjoyed affairs with the likes of Leo Tanaka (Tim Kano) and her childhood sweetheart, Vance Abernethy (Conrad Coleby).

In 2017, the character was also the focus of a harrowing breast cancer storyline, which was just a year after actress Rebekah’s mother was diagnosed with cancer.

The storyline raised awareness of making sure all tests are done to completely rule out cancer, whether a biopsy is done or not.

Taking to Twitter, fans have been sharing their views on Terese’s latest storylines, with Justin writing: “Paul ruined Terese’s life. There, Terese said it. That should rule out a reunion #Neighbours.”

In relation to Terese kicking out her step-granddaughter Harlow Robinson (Jemma Donovan), Pritha added: “Nice one Terese! Harlow was getting really annoying and the Lassiters penthouse was more her vibe anyway #Neighbours.”

“Roll on until Terese finds herself a new man! #Neighbours,” Sarah shared.

Jessica remarked: “I know Terese is hurting but avoiding Paul like she is doing isn’t going to solve their problems or marriage #Neighbours.”

But will Terese’s death finalise their relationship for good?

Neighbours airs weekdays at 1:45pm and 6pm on Channel 5.
