Back in May, several reports surfaced claiming that 13 Reasons Why star Ross Butler was involved in a plot to kill Kurt Cobain‘s ex-son-in-law. Well, rest assured 13RW fans, because the actor just came forward to deny the accusations. Phew!
In case your memory is failing you, the 28-year-old star was sued by Frances Bean Cobain‘s ex-husband, Isaiah Silva, along with Courtney Love, her manager Sam Lutfi and several others. Why? Well, according to Isaiah, the group was conspiring to kill him in hopes of stealing a valuable guitar that once belonged to the rockstar. What a mess!
For those who are wondering how Isaiah ended up with ownership of the guitar in the first place, it was something that he received in his divorce settlement with Frances. Of course, the instrument is likely worth a lot of money, so it makes sense why he’s so protective over it. But Ross Butler?! REALLY?!

In the lawsuit, Isaiah claimed that on June 3, 2016, the group, which included Ross, “entered into a criminal conspiracy to commit trespass, burglary, home invasion robbery, assault, battery, kidnapping, and murder.” Now, however, Ross is coming forward to say that Isaiah’s accusations are simply untrue.
In legal documents obtained by The Blast, RB vehemently denied the claims, saying, “I never entered into a conspiracy or otherwise agreed to commit any crime against Silva. I never conspired with anyone else to murder or kidnap Silva… or take possession of a guitar that Silva claims Ms. Cobain gave to him as a gift.”
Interestingly enough, though, the Riverdale alum doesn’t deny going to Isaiah’s home at all. In the legal documents, he said that he did, in fact, go to Isaiah’s with Sam Lufti after he received concerning text messages regarding Frances and Isaiah’s relationship followed by absolute silence. Uhh… WHAT?
Ross apparently went with Sam to check that everything was alright. When he arrived, however, “Silva was frail, emaciated, and had a terrible odor. Ross also mentioned that the house was an absolute mess.
NGL, we pretty much couldn’t be more confused by this story and how exactly the Netflix hottie got himself involved in such a complicated situation. However, we’re glad that he’s denying the accusations that have been placed against him because, LBR, finding out that one of our favorite 13RW stars was involved in an attempted murder would be a total bummer.
