Spoilers: EastEnders' Denise destroyed as Raymond's parents die in car accident

Denise Fox (Diane Parish) received horrific news in EastEnders tonight (September 25), as she learned that baby Raymond’s adoptive parents were killed in a devastating car accident.

Denise found herself having to sort the conflict that arose between Jack Branning (Scott Maslen) and Isaac Baptiste (Stevie Basula) as a result of Amy Mitchell’s accusation that the teacher was taking drugs.

However, she soon found her attention elsewhere, as an upset Callum ‘Halfway’ Highway (Tony Clay) opened up to Honey Mitchell (Emma Barton) about a tragic car accident that had been reported to the police.

Several family members had been killed in the crash, and Denise was left devastated when she learned that the father was a vicar.

She raced back to her home, and found a letter she’d received from baby Raymond’s adoptive parents several years back, and — upon checking a news website — she burst into tears, having put two and two together.

However, she soon realised that Raymond was still alive — as was his adoptive father — and she headed to the hospital for an update.

Denise broke down upon coming face-to-face with her son for her first time since she gave birth to him in 2017.

While at the hospital, she also met the formidable Ellie Nixon (Mica Paris).

After Ellie received some tragic news, she exited the hospital room — leaving an emotional Denise alone with her baby boy.

Will Denise reveal her true identity to Ellie?

What’s more, will Raymond be okay?

EastEnders continues Monday September 28 at 8:05pm on BBC One.
