As Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) in Coronation Street continues to spend days at hospital by her son’s bedside, one thing she has had plenty of is the support from her sister Toyah (Georgia Taylor).
Toyah has been the calming persona Leanne has needed in a constant time of crisis right now, regularly steering her the right way to help her sister see the clearer picture when she becomes overwhelmed as Oliver’s battle continues.
Soon though, these sisters are tested once more, as events see Leanne accuse Toyah of stabbing her in the back.
Leanne tells Imran (Charlie de Melo) that with Steve (Simon Gregson) now intent on stopping her Appeal, she wants to sue the hospital for negligence.
After Imran and Elliot break the news to Leanne that they’re no longer prepared to represent her, she tells them she will find another solicitor to take over her case.
But after phoning solicitor after solicitor, they all refuse to take on Leanne’s case. When Toyah reveals how hard it was for Imran to reach his decision, Leanne’s livid and accuses her sister of stabbing her in the back.
Dr Howarth (Caroline Harding) later tells Steve and Leanne that they’re running some blood tests as they’re concerned about Oliver’s liver function.
As Oliver’s illness continue to get worse, will Leanne lose the support of her sister after her outburst? Or will Toyah continue to support Leanne despite their argument?
