Linda Carter’s (Kellie Bright) days in EastEnders could be numbered, as Max Branning (Jake Wood) makes final preparations for the pair to leave Walford together.
With Mick (Danny Dyer) having rejected her, Linda sought solace in her new lockdown friendship with Max.
That friendship soon developed into passion, and after Mick discovered the truth, he encouraged Linda to make a go of things with Max, arguing that he cannot give her what she needs.
Therefore, Linda decided that she would take Max up on his offer of a trip to New Zealand.
Little does she know, however, that Mick is struggling to come to terms with the fact that he was abused by Katy Lewis (Simone Lahbib) when he was 12.
After finding himself unable to trust his memories following Katy’s attempts to manipulate him, Mick didn’t know what to believe, but — during the latest episode — he ultimately discovered that the carer did, in fact, abuse him.
Meanwhile, the latest episode also revealed that Linda’s trip to New Zealand with Max is imminent, and — in tomorrow’s episode (January 1) — Max suggests to Linda that they meet on the Millennium Bridge ahead of their adventure.
He suggests that doing so will allow them to have one last look at London before setting off.
The question is: will Linda turn up? If so, will she leave Walford with Max?
Or will she come to her senses and realise that she belongs with Mick?
What’s more, could Mick perhaps try to stop her from going?
EastEnders airs these scenes Friday January 1 at 8pm on BBC One.
