Teen First Dates viewers all have the same complaint as conversation turns to music

TEEN First Dates viewers all have the same complaint as a conversation turned to music at the bar.

Wednesday's instalment of the Channel 4 show saw another handful of youngsters try to find love.

When army cadet Eve sat down for a drink, barman Merlin Griffiths asked her what she was looking for in a lad.

The 16-year-old made it very clear that they both have to share a passion for music.

Merlin went on to ask: "What if it's like Westlife or something?"

Eve pulled a funny face and replied: "Westlife?"

She tried to contain her laughter as she added: "That's something that my mum listens to Westlife… or like my dad."

Irish boyband Westlife shot to fame in 1998.

The original members of the group were Brian McFadden, Shane Filan, Markus Feehily, Kian Egan and Nicky Byrne.

Brian decided to leave the band in 2004 and they later went their separate ways in 2012.

However they made an epic comeback in 2018.

Some of their most popular songs include You Raise Me Up, Uptown Girl, Flying Without Wings and My Love.

But Eve's confession made many viewers at home feel quite old.

One wrote on Twitter: "Nothing makes me feel more ancient than young people saying that music from the late ‘90s/early ‘00s is what their parents listen to… #TeenFirstDates."

Another replied to their post with: "It made me feel old to think I was also listening to the Stone Roses when I was 17. And that was 30 years ago!"

A third said: "Someone on #teenfirstdates just described themselves as being into 'early' Arctic Monkeys. I've never felt so old!"

Things got off to a flying start when Eve spotted that her date Lewis, 17, had an impressive selection of music badges on his jacket.

Some included Oasis, The Stone Roses and Pink Floyd.

However at the end of their date Eve decided that they were better off as pals.
