The Handmaid’s Tale is back with series four now well underway, having just aired its fourth instalment. But what is going to happen in the next episode on Hulu, which is called Chicago? Here’s everything we know so far about episode five from the show’s promo.

WARNING: This article contains spoilers from The Handmaid’s Tale.

What will happen in The Handmaid’s Tale season 4, episode 5?

The promo for Chicago begins with June Osborne (played by Elizabeth Moss) following a rebel who is armed with a gun.

She questions: “What kind of resistance are you?”, to which he bluntly replies: “One that survives.”

June is then seen following members of the resistance through a part of town that looks like it has been under attack.

There is a moment where June is looking at a table piled with guns, but is she ready to start using violence as a tactic?

June is later seen cowering underneath a table with armed Eyes walking by outside.

One of the rebels signals for her to keep quiet, as one of the officers stops to peer through the window.

There is a short glimpse of Nick (Max Minghella) in the promo, continuing his work as a plainclothes operative of the Eyes.

He stands by a van with handmaids inside, presumably those who have disobeyed the laws of Gilead.

While all of this is going on, the voice of Aunt Lydia (Ann Dowd) can be heard, giving a speech to handmaids in training.

She says: “You are the sacred vessels of the Lord.

“Your charge will be hard, you will be tested by wicked men, your bond with each other will be strong.

“From this day forward, none of you will ever walk alone.”

When Aunt Lydia says “wicked men”, a clip is shown of Commander Lawrence (Bradley Whitford), followed by Commander Putnam (Stephen Michael Kunken).

She then turns around and sees a couple of helicopters in the sky.

All of a sudden, the pair are running away as explosions go off behind them.

Will June and Janine survive the attack or will it soon be game over?

The official synopsis for the episode reads: “June seeks out more active rebels in the Chicago war zone, while Janine tries to help her fit in with their new group of survivors.

“Moira goes on her first field aid mission.”
