The Night Manager- Trailer – BBC One
The Night Manager is having a second life on BBC iPlayer now the mini-series has all been made available to stream. However, fans catching up on the show will be wondering whether there will also be more episodes on their way. Here’s everything you need to know about this, including what the creators have said.
Based on John le Carré’s acclaimed novel, The Night Manager won huge acclaim when it was first released in 2016.
The show followed a hotel night manager and former British soldier called Jonathan Pine (played by Tom Hiddleston).
He finds himself drawn into the world of organised crime after a chance encounter with a woman who shares a document with him revealing an arms conspiracy.
Pine is then recruited by Foreign and Commonwealth Office manager Angela Burr (Olivia Colman) to infiltrate Richard Roper’s (Hugh Laurie) inner circle.

The mini-series featured an all-star cast, including Tom Hiddleston, Hugh Laurie and Olivia Colman.
There were also several major stars in the supporting cast as well, including Tobias Menzies and Elizabeth Debicki.
When it was first released, the show was nominated for a total of 36 awards, winning 11.
This included an Emmy Award for director Susanne Bier and three Golden Globes for Hiddleston, Colman and Laurie.
Given all this huge acclaim, some were left wondering if the stars could come back for a second season at all.
Will there be The Night Manager season 2?
Following the show’s release and its huge success, there were initially a lot of promising signs the series could return.
This began when Bier spoke to Broadcast about how a script was being developed back in 2017.
She said: “We all want very much to do a season two but the thing we absolutely do not want is to do something that does not live up to the level of season one. That would be a really bad idea.”
As well as this, it was later confirmed by Charles Cumming in an interview with Event magazine how the script had been given le Carré’s blessing.

He explained: “All I am permitted to say is that le Carré has given his blessing to the project. The four of us in the writers’ room are sworn to silence.
“Some characters that the audience know and love will be returning, others will not.
“The locations will be sumptuous, the plot as thrilling and as thematically complex as a le Carré story should be.”
Star Hiddleston even seemed to confirm he would be coming back as well in an interview with Zoe Ball in 2019.
He said: “At the moment [the show] is in the lap of John le Carré and his sons who run The Ink Factory, the production company which produces it.
“They are potentially conceiving how these characters might live on: what they’re doing now given the state of the world.
“Which is curious given that the world is in an ‘interesting’ place, shall we say.
“What’s Jonathan Pine doing? Where is he? He’s probably in a dark corner somewhere spying on someone.
“What shape or form might that take? I’m very curious to see what materialises, and that’s about as much as I can say.”
However, since then nothing more has happened with the potential second season.
As well as this, author le Carré’s recent tragic death may also have halted its future.
If any more is revealed about this, Express.co.uk will update this story.
