This Morning's Dr Zoe Williams, 40, is pregnant after fearing she would never become a mum

THIS Morning's Dr Zoe Williams has revealed the exciting news she is pregnant with her first child.

The 40-year-old never thought she would become a mum and even considered going it alone until she met her partner, Stuart McKay.

Zoe had thought about going the IVF route before meeting Stuart two years ago and revealed the good news in Hello!.

"There are two big ambitions I always had in life – one was to be a doctor and the other was to be a mother," said Zoe who provides medical comments on ITV's This Morning and works as a GP in South London.

She revealed that even though she's a doctor who knows the ropes, it still is a very unique experience to be a first time mum.

"As a doctor none of this is new to me, but when you're the patient the experience is the same as for anyone else," Zoe explained.

"Having my scan was just the most amazing thing. It's so magical, the wonder of seeing this little life that's growing inside you."

Until a chance meeting at a bar in Portugal in 2019, Zoe had started seriously considering finding a sperm donor to have a baby alone.

"When I met Stuart I was considering having a baby on my own," she said.

"As Stuart and I got to know each other it almost felt disingenuous and wrong not to talk about this thing that, in the months leading up to that, had been a really big part of my life.

"So on our third or fourth date I told him I needed to know what his intentions were if our relationship worked out."

But Stuart was just as keen to start a family as Zoe: "I told her she should have a back-up and keep investigating her options but at the same time I said I believed it would work out between us and, if it did, I would love to have children with her."

Zoe who rose to fame on the recent version of the Sky show, Gladiators also volunteered at London's Nightingale Hospital in the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic.

"If I could go back two years and speak to myself and say that by January 2021 you will have met the love of your life, be pregnant and you’ll have spent most of the year in lockdown I would have said you are having a laugh," Zoe said.

Zoe features on This Morning in her capacity as medical professional.

On it's website This Morning says: "GP Dr Zoe is on call to give a Second Opinion and to take a look at the truth behind the day's Health Headlines."

She also confided that the proudest moment in her life was: "The first time I delivered a baby and had the honour of naming her."

Zoe applied to be a contestant on Gladiators, but Sky bosses liked her so much, they offered her a spot as a Gladiator instead, naming her Amazon.

Zoe was the "green Gladiator" which meant she was the face of Sky's green campaign and an ambassador for environmentally friendly lifestyle choices.

She featured in the second season of the show and was described as: "Regal and Amazonian, nature's powerful force runs through her veins."
