Suranne Jones, who started her career in Coronation Street back in 2000 and went on to star in Doctor Foster, Scott & Bailey and Gentleman Jack, leads the cast as Detective Chief Inspector Amy Silva.
Rose Leslie as DS Kirsten Longacre
Kirsten Longacre is both DCI Amy Silva's colleague on the force and her lover.
Longacre is tasked with leading the investigation on the ground.
The police officer is played by Rose Leslie, who is recognised around the world for her roles in historical drama Downton Abbey and fantasy show Game Of Thrones.
Gary Lewis as Dec. Colin Robertson
Scottish actor Gary Lewis rounds out the fictional police force as Detective Superintendent Colin Robertson.
Lewis has starred in films including Gangs of New York and Eragon.
Lolita Chakrabarti as Erin Branning
Lieutenant Commander Erin Branning comes to blows with law enforcement when they start investigating a mysterious death aboard the submarine.

Black Mirror alum Dan Li is stepping into the role of Lieutenant Commander Hennessy.
Adam James as Mark Prentice
Adam James plays another member of the Royal Navy, who aren't happy with the police investigation.
The 48-year-old, who starred alongside Suranne Jones in Doctor Foster, most famously appeared in the Johnny English sequel.
Lorne MacFadyen as Matthew Doward
Lorne MacFadyen will appear as Lieutenant Matthew Doward.
The Scottish actor is best known for his role opposite Michelle Keegan in ITV drama Tina & Bobby.
Martin Compston as Craig Burke
Line of Duty star Martin Compston is appearing as underwater expert Craig Burke.
Craig helps ensure that the HMS Vigil stays on its' navigational track.
The 37-year-old has revealed that he isn't quite as comfortable underwater as his character, however, saying he would be petrified of being in an actual submarine!
Shaun Evans as Glover
The 41-year-old actor is taking on the role of Glover, the HMS Vigil's Coxswain.
Shaun Evans has previously played a young Detective Endeavour Morse in ITV drama Endeavour.
Paterson Joseph as Neil Newsome
Paterson Joseph's breakout role was as businessman Alan Johnson in cult comedy Peep Show.
His latest role is as Neil Newsome, the commander of HMS Vigil.
Connor Swindells as Simon Hadlow
Rising star Connor Swindells found fame as troubled Headmaster's son Adam Groff in Netflix show Sex Education.
Now he's taking on a more serious role as Simon Hadlow in Vigil.
When does Vigil start and how can I watch it?
Vigil's first episode aired on BBC One on Sunday, 29th August.
From then on, episodes have been released on TV and on iPlayer on Sunday nights.
The final episode of the series will be on BBC One at 9pm.
