When will The Cry start on BBC One?

The Cry begins tonight (Sunday October 7) at 9pm on BBC One.

Jenna Coleman completed filming for the series in Australia and Glasgow in May 2018, so she could begin production on series three of Victoria.

The thriller will air across four hour-long episodes.

After the broadcast, the drama will be available to watch on the BBC iPlayer catch-up service.

Jenna Coleman

The 32-year-old actress rose to fame as Queen Victoria thanks to her leading role in ITV drama Victoria.

Her other famous work includes playing Jasmine Thomas in Emmerdale and  Clara Oswald in Doctor Who.

Jenna will take on the character of Joanna, a mother dealing with the trauma of losing a child, in The Cry.

Ewen Leslie

Ewen Leslie is a 37-year-old actor from Fremantle, Australia.

His long list of theatre credits include Hamlet, Ivanov and Richard III.

Now, The Cry will portray him as Alistair, Joanna's husband who shares the despair she feels as they search for their missing child.

Asher Keddie

The Melbourne native is a 44-year-old actress.

After kickstarting her career in the series Five Mile Creek, she has appeared in countless television series, theatre productions and movies.

Asher will be playing Alistair's ex-wife Alexandra, who is fighting to keep her daughter's custody.

Stella Gonet

Stella Gonet is a Scottish actress from Greenock, Renfrewshire.

The 58-year-old previously been in series like The House of Eliott and Holby City, alongside numerous theatre plays and films.

Stella will be playing Elizabeth in The Cry.

Alex Dimitriades

The Australian actor is 44-years-old.

Alex has appeared in movies such as Head on (1998), Ghost Ship (2002), and The Slap (2011).

His character in The Cry will be Peter Alexiades.
