Josh Holloway is one of Yellowstone’s latest additions, joining the cast in season three as new villain Roarke Morris. Roarke owns a neighbouring ranch to that of John Dutton (played by Kevin Costner) and was after his ranch and his family, alongside his colleague Willa Hays (Karen Pittman). But soon, Holloway will come to fans’ screens in a different role.

The actor has just landed a role in new HBO show Duster, which will be produced by JJ Abrams.

He will play a “gutsy getaway driver for a growing crime syndicate [whose life] goes from awful to wildly, stupidly, dangerously awful.”

The drama will be set in the 1970s American Southwest and will see The Walking Dead’s LaToya Morgan take on the role of co-creator alongside Abrams.

Abrams and Holloway will reunite on the project after both having worked on Lost before, where the actor played Sawyer.

Duster won’t be the only project Abrams will lead for HBO.

He is also working on a spin-off of the horror movie The Shining, titled Overlook, after the Overlook Hotel the film takes place in.

The series is set to explore “the untold, terrifying stories of the most famous haunted hotel in American fiction.”

Abrams is also on the team behind a new series part of the DC comics universe, Justice League Dark Universe.

He continued: “I was always fascinated when I came up with the story of Yellowstone, about how do we make it bigger and how do we expand it.”

Sheridan then delved into the details of Y: 1883 and what fans can expect.

He continued: “What an opportunity to witness the first Duttons to come to Montana.”

“And we see them when they were homesteading,” Sheridan added before teasing the action in store.

“When we say the Wild West,” the Yellowstone creator added. “What that really means is a west beyond the reach of the rule of law.

“It really is the beginning of an empire before it was an empire,” he concluded.

A second Yellowstone spin-off is also in the works at Paramount, titled 6666, for which not much is known yet.
