Yellowstone season four is in the making for Paramount Network and the Western melodrama ended on a huge cliffhanger. In the third season, the Dutton family members were targeted by anonymous killers and fans were left wondering who was behind the attacks. They have taken to the internet to discuss their theories, with some believing brother Jamie Dutton (played by Wes Bentley) is innocent.
Will Rip discover Jamie is innocent?
Yellowstone fans are more determined than ever to find out who orchestrated the attacks on the Dutton family.
While John Dutton (Kevin Costner) was shot at the roadside, his daughter Beth (Kelly Reilly) was caught up in an explosion.
Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes) was left to take on a group of gunmen, and all three Duttons saw their lives left hanging in the balance.
Fans have been discussing whether Jamie Dutton was the leading light behind the attacks as he had abandoned his family.
While he could be one of the suspects, Reddit users have suggested he does not have it in his nature to kill his family.
One fan said: “First, I think everyone’s still alive. Second, I think Jaime is going to be the victim of poor timing.
“His cryptic comment to Rip will be misinterpreted by Rip. Jaime likely meant since he’s going to make a play to topple John, Jaime and Rip will be on opposite sides of the conflict, and shouldn’t be communicating.
“Unfortunately, Rip’s short temper will cloud his mind and make him think that Jaime was behind the attacks.
“Same goes with Beth when she’s conscious. And Beth’s pure hatred for Jaime will prevent her from understanding that Jaime would never murder his own family.
“He may hate Beth, and be at odds with John, but he’s not a cold-blooded murderer… Not to mention that he does not have the connections to pull off a coordinated attack like that in such short time.”
Most fans believe that while Jamie may not have been at the centre of the conflict, he is partly involved.
The Reddit user continued: “I imagine Jaime’s plan was attack the Ranch through legal channels and eventually conduct a hostile takeover and force John and Beth out.
“He already started that by pointing out that Beth had no legal authority over the Ranch bc her POA is invalid.
“Further, we have not seen any ill will between Jaime and Kayce, so it’s unlikely that Jaime would target Kayce like that.
“Unfortunately, Jaime’s going to pay some sort of price for his poor timing, and this will likely through Kayce into the conflict with Rip and dredge up their issues too, what with Kayce not “honouring the brand” and whatnot.”

With this in mind, fans will be keen to find out whether Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) discovers the truth before it is too late.
Rip was the only one not to have been caught up in the attacks, so he will most likely be the one who leads on the investigation into what happened.
One fan added: “My big prediction for S4 is Rip kills Jaime only to find out he wasn’t responsible. Then kills his father. Then some more people. Rip kills everyone.”
Viewers are anticipating Rip will go on a ‘killing spree’ in the upcoming season, as there is plenty more to see from his character.
If anything was to happen to his partner Beth, there will be a huge price to pay for the person responsible.
There are some fans who disagree with the theory, with one saying: “I don’t think Jaime was involved in the attacks, and I don’t think Rip will think he is either.
“I think Rip knows Jaime is not capable even if he wanted. I think the whole comment about playing rough pretty much assured this was Roarke.
“That doesn’t mean Rip won’t blame Jaime for not stepping up, which in his eyes will be nearly as bad.
“I think everyone lives, but my money is on Rip dying S4. Of course, if John does die, that would allow an easy way for the next gen to sell the ranch and move on.
